So had this issue and was not software. My son is a swimmer and he was a bit too wet I guess when he got in the car . Water can find its way under the seat and shorting out the passenger sensor to turn on the passenger airbag. Obviously it can be water from any source ie open window. Just a thought since I don't know the background to your issue

yes, had this issue last week, dealer said they saw this before with 7 series as well, humidity under the passenger seat causes it, they keep the car overnight, they run the seat heater and fan all night, fixes it, he said it never comes back again

I had it twice.
Here's the info you need for dealer... fault code 930A1C pass restr malfunction due to moisture. No moisture present. Refer to bulletin 72 04 17 Seat mat index number A104 No zip ties present on grounding mat Installed zip ties to ensure grounding shield is properly secured around wires. So basically lack of a zip tie is your problem in a $100k vehicle. |

I'm getting this now and then I also get a seat belt chime, even though nobody's in the passenger seat. I have to latch the belt for it to stop.
Car going in for the 7k oil change, so it'll get resolved then...

FYI sent it on for inspection and they kept it overnight and said it needed to be heated...anyways two days later the message came back and I'm too frustrated to take it back. Let me know how it goes and how it was remedied thx

Will do and another above mentioned a zip tie fix. My initial delivery was held up, due to another zip tie issue w/ the fuel lines. Amazing what little can keep down a $125k car!

As a quick heads up, I never seem to get the error message when the passenger seat is buckled, regardless if occupied or not!
