Hey Everyone,

I had a BM3 on my F80 M3 and just recently sold it. Now I have a 2021 LCI M5 Comp. I figured they could switch it over but was told an extra $300 would be needed to transfer it to the m5 vin. Has anyone else gone through this swap?

It would be cheaper if I just sold my current one and bought a used one from the m5 forum.

All the maps were removed before telling me about the extra cost. Just sent an email and waiting for a response from them.

Probably because the M5 BM3 license costs more than the M3/M4 license. Did they say if you could then resell the M5 version? Or does that count as the one-time transfer?
