..::PSI::.. - Does the New 2022 M5 CS deserve the hype?

After hearing about all of the hype surrounding the M5 CS platform, we knew we had to take a look at it for ourselves. Thanks to some local friends at "The Studio" we were able to dig deep into what makes this car so special and for some, the C.O.T.Y.

Was a fun car to shoot! The paint allows for so many different colors to pop, we tried to show off what we could!

It's a good car, but far from the best m5 ever and I'm not even sure it's the best f90 m5. Depends on what your values are for an f90. To me, the M5 F90 is a luxury sedan that you can drive fast as a daily driver. The m5cs does not do that job very well, it's a pretty harsh ride and I prefer the 2019 standard m5 I have over the m5cs in terms of daily driving and having comfort. Forget about driving on a road trip in the cs you will be exhausted. The standard m5 I can drive for hours with massage on seats and comfortable suspension. That is what an m5 is best for.

You want the lci m5. Lots of changes were made. Ride comfort is a lot better with the newer one.

I thought you would like this Used 2022 BMW M5 CS for $198980 on Autotrader http://atcm.co/S2PVDP/258C4C17

Why is the owner selling so quickly?

Because you can sell it for more than you paid. Easy money.

But he currently owns both.

If that is the case he is well suited to make such statements, which you can take his statements as you will. I am surprised about the ride comfort comment though. If you can believe the reviews, the ride comfort is at least better than the M5C. However, I would personally value the opinion of actual owners, especially someone with both cars, over the opinion of reviewers that have spent a few hours with a vehicle and may be just regurgitating the same line review after review.

My thoughts, at least here in the UK, is that the CS suspension, has far more compliance than other M5s, and actually makes for a better ride quality, and is the stand out feature over my Competition ?.

I drove out to Palm Springs last week for a conference. 4 hours each way. No comfort issues at all with the seats. To each there own. But, in my opinion, the M5 CS IS the greatest M5 of all time.

Yes, the Honda sign on an M5 is such a bad look. LOL.

I own both too… a ‘21 comp fully loaded w/ ccbs and b&w and a CS. I really appreciate the comp but the CS just feels a million times more dialed in than the comp. I was a little disappointed by how numb the comp felt and the CS fixed that issue completely. It’s not even broken in yet and I can feel the difference in power and ride versus my comp which had intake, primary and secondary downpipes, exhaust and kw v4s. And I’d pick the CS all day. I’d say the only negative about it is the lack of B&W speakers because it truly has an amazing surround effect that the Harmon Kardon can’t replicate (but alas, saving weight is the goal so I’m willing to ditch them).

It’s not just me who feels that — I’d say there’s a reason all the trusted reviewers say similar things — and it’s not because they’re copying each other, it’s because it’s the truth

Having owned both the Pre LCI and the M5 CS I can say the CS is way more comfortable in daily driving even without the massaging seats. Best M5 ever!

I am not saying the M5CS is not a great car. I think it is. I believe the M5CS was a good decision by BMW. There is definitely a market for both M5C and M5CS. I honestly do not get the whole numb steering issue. I can accept it may just be my issue and truthfully sometimes ignorance is bliss. I do not go anywhere near a race track and have no desire to. I use the M5 for runs to the store and mostly cruising on Dallas highways on the weekends. So maybe the numb issue does not present itself during this type of usage. What I enjoy more about the car I have is the luxury feel and knowing I have sufficient power to get where I want to. I love it!!! I have Donnington Grey over Tartufo interior. When I drive my M5 I feel like it is just a great car. Maybe I would feel different if I drove the car on a racetrack or in canyons or wherever this numb issue shows up. I have driven cars with hydraulic steering all my life. The car I drive most frequently is a sport compact car with no electronic steering and rear wheel drive. I doubt that steering would be considered numb but maybe so. When I jump out of this car into the M5 I do not notice a steering feel difference. Again maybe it is just me.

In the end there are different strokes for different folks. Get the car that works for you and enjoy.
