Porsche hands down is better in the rain! I own a 2003 Porsche C2. Rain or snow, I had the Porsche go in any weather.

Wow, congrats on the baby and promotion and sorry to hear about the M.
You can always do X5M, but no ED. Performance center delivery is the only option there.

'Driving' the B1 makes all our BS about which car is 'best' pretty mundane!!! Awesome barrel roll. Be safe!!

Congrats and thanks for sharing the video! For some reason I had a suspicion it was a B1 you flew...

B1, any footage from inside the cabin? I was going to say show us what a real heads up display is, but I think that's all built into helmet and impossible to record.

Do you fly any other plane besides the B1?

Has you're new S63 arrived and does it have HUD? I saw an online video for new c-class and HUD looked pretty rudimentary. I'm hoping that MB give the 'big boys' something better? Would appreciate pics when it arrives.

B1, sorry for thread jack.

Still on order hold. MBZ decided to process it as a 2015 M/Y - which should have the HUD. Waiting for updated options list and a build date.

Yeah right. Hopefully CCB as well, and I think updated touch nav controller.

I just want it to start production already. '14 model year lasted only a few months - never seen that before.

Congrats on the baby!!

Cars will come and go, so the fun begins. Keep us posed on what you choose. P-car or BMW get my vote.

Also, impressed with your video. How can I setup a ride =)

Im sure I can dig up some video somewhere... we actually don't have HUD... we do fly with some impressive computer screens, targeting pods, etc. Right now the B-1 has been the only plane I've flown for the AF... I do have my full commercial and instrument license, and have quite a few friends who have private planes that we go fly. I almost bought a Cirrus SR22 instead of the M5... but I think I made the right choice for now.

As for the new car search, I want to see how the new X5M turns out...

Right now I am debating getting a loaded X5 or X5M, and in a couple years when the Gxx M5 is available, giving the X5 to the wife, and getting the new M. The more likely option is that I just get a '15 M5.

We are going to do a PCD of the new X5 with the diesel engine.
Carbon black with Terra interior, M sport package and 21" optional wheels.

Placing the order in 2-3 weeks. The plan is to do a PCD on a Friday and spend a day there on their track. Maybe we can do it same day if you decide to order the F15.

I have to say the RR is a good family car. I used to drive the RR back when BMW built it. Now it's owned by TaTa an Indian company. But there is so much room inside and it's pretty comfortable.

Only thing is.. it drives like a BOAT compared to the M5. Therefore rollover risk car. On the other hand, Cayenne and the X5M are basically impossible to flip.

Trust me.. I tried to flip it on the BMW test track in Miramas. The German on the radio insisted that I try my hardest to flip it.

Yeah, I have former experience with RR as well, and it was not good on the maintenance side.. Being as I am located in middle of nowhere West Texas, its a 2.5 hour drive to any performance car dealer--- and i don't trust a TaTa-made, ex-Jaguar, Range Rover that far. Its sad, because they really are beautiful looking.

I wish I could.... I won't be getting a new car for about a year (next January when I get back). I will keep my M5 till about June of this year... I just am trying to get ahead of the curve on what might be coming up out there.

Right now I am torn between a loaded X5 (or possibly X5M), and an individual M5. I will continue to test drive other brands about once a month when I am able to get into Dallas or San Antonio.

I have you down as an open-minded kind of guy; try it before you knock it? The change of ownership has not done the JLR group any harm. Think about it: new RR 450kg lighter (or so) than previous, supercharged 5 litre engine, etc. Other JLR cars also sexy!!!!

Oh yeah, absolutely... I still will test drive anything... I was on their website for an hour or so getting up to speed with the their current technologies, etc. One thing is for sure, I would definitely feel my family would be safe in the vehicle.
