The BMW M5 CS already was a beautiful car, but this green is something that I never knew I needed in my life

Look stunning. And yes, low angle sun will make a freshly washed car appear dusty. It's all about the reflective angle the golden light comes in at. If you think this car appears dusty (which it isn't) you should see a black car in these same conditions. Wish I the coin for this stunning car!

Because of course, the Club Sport car that is ostensibly the track focused car, would benefit from being lowered (compromises control arm range of motion), dark tints (compromises visibility), and spacers (compromises both hub integrity and increases unsprung weight).

LOL! I was thinking something similar. Of course, I went with "electric" blue, so perhaps that counts for something.

uhm, you clearly have alot of time on your hands. If you believe the CS is a true track car then this conversation is moot. Which is odd, considering you've had so much track time. Or so you claim.

My father is getting a CS, and he can give two shits about the track. He's buying it because he loves the f90, and he loves green. So he's already plannning to lower, and spacers. If he ever feels the need to put a vehicle on track, he can take my Mclaren. You know, because thats a REAL track car.

Yep, in fact, you could probably say the opposite about matte paint, you don't notice the dust as well on the painted surfaces as you do on the rear window or gloss carbon roof:

Consider that Sun made this worse than it is. The car is clean, however every single dot of dust is visible in this condition.

It would appear ceramic coating (several coats) would be essential for matte paint. But my concern is making it shiny. Never looked into this but probably there's special ceramic formulas just for matte paints?

I'm a fanatic when it comes to allowing anyone to wash my cars, and with matte paint my ocd tendencies will only go higher. I've seen some repulsive looking matte finishes that appear shiny, and I suspect that's from using the wrong products.

You can coat a matte paint with any type of ceramic coating, and keep the matte finish.

I had my Frozen Arctic Grey M5 ceramic coated with G-techniq H9 3 years ago and it looks fantastic.

Check out my thread below, in my signature.

Whites, greys, silvers, blacks, tend to take well to ceramic coats - and a Frozen version of these colors also can work with a ceramic coat. BMW explicitly cautioned me against any ceramic application over Frozen MBB as it would result in a shift in the color and tone of my car's appearance.

You are absolutely right - using the wrong products and approach on a Frozen color can ruin the appearance, from making it "shiny" to diminishing it's "matte sheen" or shifting the color or tone - all are possible. I suspect the solution BMW advised for my Frozen MBB car (and shown in another thread in this forum) would work on the Frozen Deep Green CS.

You are uncertain what my position is on the M5CS? Hmmm, let's add "limited reading comprehension" to your list of descriptives. In another thread in which you're actively being offensive in I previously stated "People with deep pockets and the desire for a real track car get a real track car, have it professionally transported to the track, fly in via helicopter, play with their track toy and then leave. The M5cs or any street car for that matter is not track car for the street. B.S. it is a compromised street car for someone who can't afford a track car.

Now if you want a more agile and more focused variant of the M5, than certainly the CS fits that description. It's a great car. But it is no more or less a track car than the M5c, it just has different trade-offs. A track car, by definition, is NOT a street car."

Quote:

Interesting, you're referencing a comment of my from the same above referenced thread. So either you have limited reading comprehension or limited memory - or as you like to say "maybe both?"

No one can present themselves as the douche they most certainly are better than the douche himself. Thank you for the above. I hope everyone else enjoyed that tad-bit from you as much as I did. Thank you.
