If you put 305 on the back the front needs to be 295 to be within 1.3% Circum. But 295 needs to be on 10" rim and your's are 9.5" You can put 285 front and 305 back on stock rims and that will push it up to 1.8% Some people are ok with 1.8% I prefer to be 1.3 or less

You still need to switch the front rims one size down in diameter

I don't have to worry about this until Spring, but I'm trying to figure out what I want to do here as well. I was running 305 rears on my M6, so ideally I'd like to go that wide (or wider) here, but the AWD limiting the diameter differences makes things tricky.....

Again you can put 305/35/20 back and 285/35/20 front that would be 1.8% I have seen people on this forum using this setup I like to stay below 1.3% I am going to post mine as soon as a decide what rims and offset I will go with

This is what I think I am going with as well. I really wanted a 305 rear but Michelin doesnt make a 305/35. Only a 305/30 or a 305/25. Id really like a more robust sidewall so I think Im going with a 295/35. I will give up .4 inch in tread width compared to a 305 but everything else falls into line.

Stocks are off at 1.1% so differential are calibrated for that... in reality you are off only 0.7%

According to this post you can use whatever tire size you like as long as you configure it via iDrive, has anyone done this yet?

That’s for the tpms not AWD differentials.

Miko, I hate to bring this forum back to life, but I just picked up my F90 M5 Comp. It has the 789M wheels. I want to run a 305/30/20 in the rear. Is this possible with a stock 275/35/20 up front, without causing differential problems? Sorry, I could not find this request above.
Or is it possible to run a 265/35/20 up front and a 275/35/20 in the rear? Asking based on tire sizes that my company has in stock... Thanks! |
