Hello all, id like to confim some reports of having or not having MP3

Those that have Professional Navigation ( the standard one in the USA ) and that have had the September update ( CIP 19.01 )

Can you please confirm if you have MP3 capability in
1) The Front CD Slot
2) The Front DVD Slot
3) The CD Changer if you have it

And also please state if you are in the USA or Rest of the world

Im giving my car to service for the navigation update tomorrow. The dealer said they weren't sure what the update contained but they receieved a dvd last wednesday. I will be picking up the car on Wednesday and will let everyone know

But someone else stated that MP3 function won't be avalaible until November. I'm keeping my fingers crossed

MY dealer here in SA does not appear to have received it - I have the Nav Pro with phone etc.

can someone tell me what CIP stands for? my SA does not seem to have any clue when i mentioned it to him? Why the heck did the dealer pay them for, so they can sit there and increase our service cost overhead?

Coding Individulization and Programming

Tel them the software DVD version 19
If he asks what software, tell him the one for the SSS computer

Best to talk to the actual techs working on the cars, not the guys in the office

I gave my car in for a software update but the service said this update does not have the mp3 option. It will take few more months to get this updated to USA Bad news . I will be picking up later today or tomorrow morning and let everyone know if something is new

Rant: I just don't see why this would take so long. It's kind of unfair to customers who bought their cars right away

My car was booked to have the upgrade done 22/09. They replaced the CCC unit (as E90Fleet suggested many weeks ago!) and proceeded with the upgrade and "coding".
After 2 days I requested to have my car back for the weekend, and they obliged but stated that it wasn't 100% ready. Apparently the upgrade is complicated and there were a few 'errors' during the process which still need to be fixed...

Anyways, I had the car back for the weekend, and haven't noticed any difference. I specifically checked the car key memory function to see if the electric seats automatically adjust to the memorised position, but sadly this does not work.
Tonight I made an MP3 cd, and tested it in the cd changer and the in-dash player (even tested it in the DVD slot). I'm dissapointed to report that the CD doesn't even play, let alone display track info!
I re-recorded the CD (using iTunes) and confirmed that all files were saved as MP3 format, with ID tags ver. 1.1. Again, no luck - the disc won't even play!
So my car goes back tomorrow to 'fix' all the "errors"...let's see. This will be the 5th time my car is going in to be fixed...

Just got a call from service. Nothing was really updated that I could notice, it was mostly internal computer stuff from what they told me.

I see you have Idrive

Check if you can set DRL's on or off via Idrive
and Drivaway locking

I have confirmed European cars get that option in Idrive with CIP 19.01

I think I had driveaway locking option before but I did not had DRL

Isn't it possible to get a list of the updates in each software update? I asked service and they said they did not have one. I can't see how hard this could be

If there have been menu changes they should release a list when the new TIS comes out. Think one is due next month

Nothing at all has changed for me. Ive had the car almost 2 months and havent washed the car yet. Thats cause its been in serivce so often and they wash it. Its sort of annoying...i do want the DRL option but mostly want the Mp3 option. Hurry the F up!

I just got the car back from service. There doesn't seem to be any changes in iDrive settings.

I think i got the DRL but I don't see where I can enable/disable it. My lights is always on adaptive so I'm not sure If i really have it or not. Will turning it off completely confirm it even though it will get dark here soon?

For some reason, the car feels a lot faster when and much more responsive. Could it be the software upgrade?

My 330i is exactly same as it was before software update.

I've had auto locking & DRL for 3 months now before updates.
There is no option for turning on or off DRL, done by dealer only!
Maybe Europe has this option? but surely US does not!

I think DRL is daytime running lights.

My car has DRL on/off in iDrive menù since the first day and it works correctly, but my software is June version, so not 19.01, but previous version.
Production date is 28/06/2005.
So I think what you say is non correct.
