2022 m5 forged wheels

I know that the 789M wheels are forged, are the other options really not forged? Specifically the 810M wheels. Can anyone with 810M confirm whether they are forged or not?

The 810M wheels appear from pictures to be the same as the 706M wheels but in a different finish. If that is the case, then like the 706M wheel, the 810M would be cast and would weight in excess of 35 pounds (based on my weighing my 706M wheels).

The 706m and 810m wheels are different (7 spoke vs 5/10) but I'm pretty sure they are both cast and the only forged option are the 789m.

Well I'll be damned. You'd think they'd forcefully advertise that what with the fixation on weight savings that many buyers have. Did they send you that in writing?

Not sure I would trust a phone conversation. The real question is what do they weigh. If you can get that info and are confident about it, that would be definitive as most of the forged BMW wheels in stock M5 size weigh around 27 to 29 lbs, while the cast wheels are in the 35 to 36 lbs range.

Regardless, all of the forged aftermarket wheels are significantly lighter and are wider as well. It all depends on how much you want to spend. You can get nice forged wheels for US$3,500 a set that weigh 24-25 lbs or you can get high-end forged wheels that weigh less than 20 lbs, but cost close to US$10K for a set.

Yes, in writing. While info might not be 100% accurate they have been right on other things that I had to school both my dealer and the regional rep for bmw on after they both told me wrong info that got passed down the pipeline.

I don't plan to track the car so the unsprung weight doesn't mean much to me, I only care about the durability, all my forged wheels have been fine, all the cast wheels have cracked and bent more times than I can count
