A few shots from the road leading up to the farm where we take our border collie for herding lessons. Sorry about the dirty car.

During a recent trip to a BMW dealership I parked next to an E39. I recognized it because I am somewhat an enthusiast, but I would not trade my F90 for it in a million years.

I also don't get the fondness for the E39. I wanted one desperately in 2003. But now when I sit in one the interior just looks so old and late 1990s. And unless you have replaced almost every component on the car it won't drive like it did 20 years ago. You can't escape the ravages of time on all the plastic and rubber components in the suspension and drivetrain. Plus metal fatigue and general wear and tear on everything. That's why you should drive the heck out of your car and enjoy it. The miles cause wear, but so does time. So you might as well use it.
In the end entropy takes over everything. |

Same here, had two E39 M5s,
Would get another one maybe, but I rather go with a new one Older cars at some point are better off to be a garage queens, Had Dinan 7 for over 8 years, but ended up selling it too. Last edited by nordmanmg; 04-21-2024 at 11:11 PM.. |

Had my one since 2008.
Supercharged it in 2010 (600 HP plus) Retired it in 2014 after I put a 100K miles on it, dailying it in London and thrashing it all over Europe too. Tough to beat it, on the whole. My F90 M5 is the only saloon car that has come close to it in my view, as on overall ownership proposition.
