Yes, it's happened a couple of times to me too. I have the setting for brake intervention for reverse, probably overly sensitive sensor or buggy as nothing was behind me. Actually, same thing happened to me while going forward but only once. I was the first car in line with no one in front and when the light turned green and all clear, I began my acceleration and the sensor sounded and the car braked hard. It was weird but luckily no one was behind me either.

Yeah, overly sensitive sensors. Mine did that sometimes while backing out of my driveway. It was sensing a couple of manhole covers in the street that are just a few feet from where my driveway meets the street. I keep that feature turned off. It still beeps, so I would have to really try to not be paying attention to back into something.

Did you take it in? I made an appt for tomorrow, but if they can't do anything I would rather not waste my time.

How to turn off feature?
Happens to me too while backing out of the garage at times.
How do you turn off the feature? Does it automatically turn back on when restarting the car after being turned off for the day/night? Thank you for your help |

Has happened to me as well. Once backing out of a car wash parking lot.
Another time backing out of garage. Hammers the brakes hard. Each time thought I hit something. Freaked me out.

Used to happen to me when backing off my driveway onto the road as it slopes down to the road.
Just press the button next to the red hazard warning triangle, the one with the car icon in a green circle. It will shortcut you to the active safety menu where you can reduce sensitivity or turn off. |

Happens to me also. It can be very sensitive sometimes.

I have the driving assistant plus pkg which has that big sensor at the lower portion of the front bumper. These cars just have too many sensors/electronics which means potential for issues. I do find it helps to wipe down that sensor from time to time to make sure no debris is on it.
