Cold air intakes install

I have a 2018 M5 with the executive package. This package includes a night vision camera on the front grill. Are there any cold air intakes that fit my car's engine and doesn't block the passage way of the camera? Project gamma has a great set up but their air filters will not fit unless I remove the night vision camera and that's something that I don't wanna do.

Any guidance on this would help.

Maybe look at the Dinan intake. It won’t be as loud as the cone filters behind the grills, but looks great and Dinan claims it adds power.

I have used both Eventuri and Dinan with no issues. If you want the added turbo sound go Eventuri. Quality they are both on par with each other.

Dinan with turbo inlets adds just as much turbo sound.

Not for me it didn't. I used to hear a lot more. Have you had both?

Did you have inlets as well?

No, I don't, but with inlets I couldn't imagine how the turbo sound could be louder. It's very noticeable. Watching videos showing the Eventuri, it's basically the same.

Yes I have inlets too. Don't get me wrong the Dinan is definitely louder than stock but to me the Eventuris produced a lot more turbo spool sound under light acceleration.

You have or had? The Dinan inlets don't work with the Eventuri.

Another option is the CTS Turbo Intake. I have this on my car and the difference in sound is VERY noticeable. I can't speak for Dinan or Eventuri, but from a price perspective the CTS kit is a fraction of the price and I just don't see the $$ in the other two. I got the CTS intake, ER catless secondaries, and had them installed for less than either of those 2 intakes. Just my .02

Is that what you're talking about? Super inexpensive.

eventuri is louder because it is an open design while Dinan uses stock style box which muffles the sound.

Both are an improvement to OEM though.

I can't answer in regards to the price or actual HP gains. I can say that it does feel faster/quicker (butt dyno) to me.

If you can feel 10 rwhp out of 600 you are exceptionally talented. If you can hear more induction noise, you are more typical.

Sorry, I should have clarified what I mean't by feel. It seems that the turbos spool faster and that the boost comes on quicker. Placebo effect, possibly, but hearing the turbos loud and clear now makes it worth it to me.

Also, Dragy numbers show zero difference between the CTS intake vs stock box with charcoal delete and BMC filters in terms of times and I don't think that any intake on the market will net you noticeable gains. Combined with other mods, possibly. More of a sum of its parts kind of thing.

I was going to start a post asking about whether to go with the Eventuri or Dinan Cold air intake and I think I got my answer by reading this entire thread. I'll go with the Dinan cold air intake and the their turbo inlet pipes. Thank you all.

Project gamma estimates 20-35hp, unfortunately won't fit due to the night vision camera on my front grill. Wish Dinan didn't cost $2,300 💀🤪

Project Gamma will not net any more horsepower than the CTS or any open styled intake. The Eventuri might net more consistent (but same) power due to the cover.
All will make zero to negligible acceleration difference except if you pair the dinan with their inlets.

Get what fits well and get your sound. There won't be a difference in acceleration. In fact you might even lose some part throttle response with the open filter setups (except possibly the Eventuri....maybe)

You can always do BMS. Same turbo sound if that is what you are looking for.
There are no real (material) power gains from intakes on our cars.
Stock BMS car with only their tune ran a 10.3......my car did the same with their tune and intake.
