I was under the impression that the weight savings also took a toll on luxury, but could be wrong as I never drove a CS. No question the CS is a better track/performance car.

NOPE your wrong, NO adaptive cruise/ multi-adjustable massage seats/ heated rear seats/rear entertainment(if required), and some other stuff.

Yup, what a lot of others are saying, I picked up my '21 M5C loaded (minus CCB's, which were not a necessity for me...but I would have taken them if they were on the car) + all of the M Performance exterior carbon bits so the sticker was only ~10K off a new CS and I knew the CS was coming but I preferred the loaded Comp. It is already super car fast but has all of the creature comforts and with the windows rolled up and everything turned down, it's limo levels of insulated inside. At most I'll do one track event w/ my Avants club and a few 1/4 mile TNT nights per year, not enough to justify the extra edge of the CS that you can't turn off.

I also have a very small private driveway with a hard turn into my private but shared parking area and w/o the 360 camera I wouldn't be able to back up it and into my spot reliably, so I kind of have to have it for a car this size.

As I've said before, I'd still love to hoon a CS around at a track day event, just don't want to own one all the time as my daily (and the M5 is my only car).

one thing to mention CS has no lease support
so if you lease your M5 , there will be several hundred dollars difference between similarly priced M5C and M5CS , that to me tilts in favor of M5C

Not just no lease support, but no lease program at all. You cannot lease the M5CS through BMWFS. There are other lease options though, but they are all third party like Putnam.

I think you are wrong. Some of those things are options on a base M5, which is a luxury sedan, not standard equipment.

In addition to everything mentioned so far, I have read that the CS removes some of the sound insulation from the regular M5 to save weight. If you have driven the regular or Comp M5 on chip sealed roads (like we suffer with here in Portland), you will have discovered that the tire roar at freeway speeds is quite intrusive. One of the reasons I traded in my 911 GTS was that the tire noise was 90+ db at 70+ MPH on the local roads. If the CS is louder than the Comp, then it would likely approach the unbearable noise level of my former 911.

Of course, if you live in an area with proper asphalt roads (like I had back in North Carolina) then even the 911 was perfectly quiet, so the CS would not be an issue.

Wow OSHA would say you need ear protection in that 911. Based on time of exposure of course.

I do agree that taking weight out in the form of sound deadening and/or thinner glass and adding a stiffer suspension will make the car noisier and ride less compliantly. It is probably right at the limit of what most would want in a mid size sedan, do the market is small and few are being made.

i ordered a black m5c with only full leather and CCB's ..its so fuckin sexy

-Ordered this way you still get heated seats , heated steering wheel , gesture control ,few more things than i expected.

and FWIW.. The one thing that everyone loves/comments on about my car (because most people aren't car people)
is how amazing and comfy the seats are

since I don't have cooled seats the leather isnt perforated and is like silk

Yes, the seats in the M5 Competition are some of the best in any sports sedan.

I have a Porsche with the 18 way setup and prefer the M5's seats. The cobra silhouette takes the cake.

Didn’t like the Panamera and 911 18 ways. But the cayenne’s is a different case, wider and super comfortable. Have not tried cobra. The type R’s buckets are also very good
