2021 M5C Engine Noise

Seen some videos and post on bent rods etc but just wanted to run this by you guys and see if this ticking is "normal". I am aware that Vanos does have ticking since I have had a few M cars in the past but with some of the posts where engines are being replaced by BMW just wanted to make sure this seems/sounds "normal".

This is on a 2021 M5C with 1600 miles vin WBS83CH07MCF27355

https://youtu.be/nd5oXvdDaHo

Sorry not sure how to imbed the video.

Sounds normal to me; a little rattle or ticking is to be expected with VANOS. My 19' M5C sounds pretty similar and runs very hard with no issues.

+2 that's normal.

Once it gets warmed up the tone changes. If you wait and listen for a few minutes once it warmed up a lot of that goes away.

Yep I get a bit of that ticking too on startup. It's normal. On a side note, did that M5 in this video really wear an Audi dealer plate lmfao.

Tagging in for the ticking noise as well, though not injector noise which I believe we are listening to in that video posted. Its louder cold but still stays once warmed up.. Going to say valve ticking based on the throttle load, highly doubt we are listening to piston slap since I do not believe BMW is went forged pistons lol

Mine has a small tick on cold start. Once the cat warm up process and high rev comes down, the tick fades away. Brand new 21 comp.

Mine was strong all the way to 100k. Beat the piss out of it and never gave me trouble.
