2021 individual Shadowline headlights?

Is it just me or there is almost no difference between the regular led/laser lights and Shadowline lights? Does anyone have a side by side comparison?

Same question here. Let me know if you did get any images for comparison.

I think what you're looking for is discussed here.

There's definitely a difference. I notice it right away.

1) Regular lights on the Base M5 is white clear on the top part of the light assembly as it runs above the L shaped tubes.

2) Shadowline Lights, that area is blacked out so the L shaped tubes, esp if you have daytime running lights on, is more pronounced since rest of the headlight assembly is blacked out.

3) Laser Lights, that same top part has a blue tint signifying the Laser Light.

Option 2) is only available as part of the competition package here in the US, can't be ordered as a separate option like in the UK, Canada and some other countries. I tried, and can't when I ordered my M5.

Option 3) is only available again outside the U.S.

Try the BMW UK configurator, you can select and deselect the laser and/or shadowline lights to see how it looks.

Thanks for the link to the thread! Very detailed. 👍🏼

I'm currently looking at a M5 Comp LCI available with the dealer. Seems to be specified with BMW Individual Shadow Line headlight but without Laser Headlights.
Has anyone actually noticed major differences between the standard headlights and Laser headlights with regards to road illumination? I drive a lot late night/early morning and certainly don't want to miss out on the superior Laser headlights.

I can't comment on the F90, but I had the EURO laser lights retrofitted on my US G05 and the anti-dazzle enabled and honestly there was barely any difference between non-lasers LEDs and laser LEDs.

The main reason why I wanted them is because laser lights (actual housings) look MUCH BETTER on the G05 than the standards light. On the US G05 standard lights one of the projectors is a dummy plastic piece so only one lights up, which looks very strange and cheap for an almost $100k car.

On the F90/G30 the differnece is barely visible (as the creation of this thread confirms), but I can't speak on their functionality and if the output is more drastic than it was on the G05. Of course us car enthusiasts have an easier time spotting them, but to the normal person it would not be visible, unlike what they did to the G05.

I think the shadowline package definitely helps offset the omittance of laser lights.

Perhaps you just didn't notice but there is a significant difference in the "high beam" throw of light down range beyond your perceived line of sight. Watch some YouTube videos to understand. Assuming you also understand the laser is ONLY for the high beam.

Uhhh, yeah, I actually have a video on youtube that I posted with over 35k views showing the retrofit. There is a slight difference compared vs regular LEDs I had before the retrofit, but not a DRASTIC enough difference to justify the price of a retrofit just for light output purposes. The only thing that justifies the price is the actual look of the headlights. That was the main reason why I did it.

Also, I see that you are in VA. On the U.S. G05s we do not have the same 400m capabilities that they have in Europe. The U.S. headlights were crippled due to regulatory reasons. You can only get that if you retrofit EURO headlights and change the coding to take advantage of the them, which is what I did. Did you do a EURO retrofit on yours and any before/after videos?
