Bluestone

Greetings to all.

In the market for a M5 comp, thinking of this car (see attached pic) at my local dealer. I want the black wheels because I am not crazy about the y spokes and would prefer a color with decent contrast with those wheels. I do not want a white car and would rather not order (would prefer to get sooner, rather than later).

Thoughts on color?

It's about 25 minutes from me, awaiting a decision. The fact I could be in it today is very tempting.

I am vacillating between getting this (trying to get comfy with the color) or a Singapore Grey with bi-color wheels or metallic black with the bi-color wheels or....ordering Frozen dark silver or Pure metal silver and waiting 6 months

I love Bluestone after seeing one at a local dealer. Aragon Brown interior is perfect for it.

Here's my SG w/ bi-color to compare, both w/ and w/o tint. First pic was day of delivery, and you'll notice the car changes color depending on lighting and angle.

That looks great! I especially like SG with the bi-color wheels you have. I do not know why they don't allow the bi-colors to be an option on the M5 comp build on the BMW website

If your not 100% on the colour wait it out. The last thing you want is a car that you don't like. I'm personally not a fan of bluestone but that's just me

Bluestone is gorgeous in person. My local dealer had two Comp's in Bluestone for about 2 months. One recently sold, not sure if they still have the other.

Solid advice, the problem is, I am not sure what I like on the f90 body. Wheels have an impact and the "normal" color choices do not wow me.

That's why my last resort backup plan was to go with a Selenite matte grey on an E63s. Good car, but not quite as good as the M5.

My wife thinks I need to be institutionalized.

She may have a point. I personally like how the black bits(rear diffuser, rims, side vents, mirrors, etc) show up on the lighter color M5's. I actually did not notice those parts at all when I first drove an all black M5 Comp.

Agreed about the lighter colors and the trim pieces.

Its down to getting the Bluestone, Singapore Grey with Y spokes or the Black Sapphire Metallic.

Wish I could find a good picture of a SG with black wheels on a sunny day.

This is way tougher than I thought it was going to be.

No worries. I am a fan of that Bluestone. Makes the black bits pop. It ain't Nardo but it ain't bad.... Either color, you can't go wrong, both look great.

If you are really conflicted on color... perhaps consider sapphire black and then wrap the car in any color you want. Black cars are much less expensive to wrap bc the undertone is well black and easily hidden.

Thanks and it truly is an awesome color. There are so may different color flecks in the paint, that attribute to it's "chameleon" nature.
I hear you on the comp, but you can take it to an shop and have them two tone them for you.
