Uniden R3 hard wired into the mirror using a mirror tap (instructions in another thread). Love the R3 over my Valentine. But you have to program it correctly to the get the most out of it. Check out vortexradar.com's programming recommendations.

Uniden is also coming out with the R7 in April which is an R3 with arrows. I'll be updated then and giving the R3 to the wife.

Very quiet radar primarily due to best BSM filtering for windshield mounted radar.

Range is very strong as well.

This radar is very small and discreet ... Display is much more Amber than the picture depicts.

How does it compare to the likes of Uniden? Escort? 9500ci?

I had an Escort 360 Max on my F10 M5 and it was really noisy and Escort was horrible about pushing out firmware updates. My most important criteria was minimizing the BSM falses and having a radar that was effective but quite; this radar has been very good.
