There is no wire corresponding to ground when armed. The OEM alarm works on the CAN bus and has no discrete outputs like an aftermarket alarm. Does your voice module have Arm/Lock and disarm/unlock trigger inputs?

Hey,
There is not ground when armed wire on our vehicles, it is all run through can bus. Something that you could do is build a latching relay that is triggered off the security light on your rear view mirror. When you lock the car, the relay will be triggered and give you a negative output. Here is a link to the relay setup: http://www.the12volt.com/relays/page5.asp#pts NOTE: You will have to hook pin number 87 to ground to get a negative output on pin 30. |

Using that method will keep the relay coil energized at all times in one state (locked) or the other (unlocked) and result in dead batteries. A relay coil will pull on the order of 100mA while energized. Eventually, that will kill your battery. Bad idea.
You would need a mechanically latching relay rather than an electrically latching relay. That would solve the current drain problem. Easier to find a DEI 390X CAN alarm and use its GWA output. |

Thanx for your input guys.i only wanted to add some touch to the oem alarm.when connected to alarm systems which have that famous ground -when -armed wire, you get a "system armed" female voice message and an "alarm, deactivated" male voice message when you arm and disarm it respectively.

I have never seen an OEM alarm with a GWA output unless the OEM alarm was sourced from an aftermarket company like DEI or Code. |
