'13 F10 528i Oil Pan Leak due to possible past maintenance?
I recently got quoted $1,700 for an Oil Pan recplacement on my BMW. It’s been leaking oil for awhile. First time I brought it in to my private mechanic, they could not find the leak. That was roughly 1 1/2 months ago.
Brought it in yesterday, and got that quote. My question is, could this be due to the recent “massive” Timing Chain repair I had done October 20th 2023? I started noticing the leaking roughly in early December of the same year, so around a month or so after the job was done. Any chance this fix should be done under warranty from the earlier repair job? Thanks in advance for any comments or opinions. |

Yep, OPG needs to come off to do a N20 timing chain and guide.
The bottom sprocket can only be accessed from underneath. It shouldn't be leaking from the OPG if it was repaired properly. Last edited by StradaRedlands; 04-13-2024 at 10:39 PM.. |
