Just completed the swap, was pretty straightforward as bolt pattern is the same. I thought I would need to use brackets as CS uses them but it turns out it’s to center the seat better. I left it as is, as it’s less than 1” and I don’t even notice it. Stock seats are 70lbs and buckets are 48lbs so it’s 44lbs shaved off.

Looks so good! So it was straight bolt in replacement? Are you able to use all the electronic functions (other than head rest adjustment)? Did you order new M5 logos or reused them from old seat?

I reused old badges(not sure if they light up yet…lol). It was pretty much plug and play but I had to reuse seatbelt receptacles from the m5 as the seats did not come with them. Had to modify those to make them work on the bucket seats and tap the plug for the seatbelt into main plug. Airbag light is on because I had it all duccomnected so hopefully it all clears or I’ll have it coded. Everything else works.. all adjustability, seat warmers etc. you obviously lose cooling seats as well at the massage feature (which I think is useless).

This is a very timely post as I have buckets going in on Wednesday. Any other tips or suggestions about the install you care to share?

You’re a legend. I need more info on this man! Where did you source the seats? What did this set you back if I may ask!

I just made a post asking about using m8 seats in my m5. M3 seats will do too.

This is seriously dope! I always loved the Carbon Fiber Bucket Seats in the M3/M4 and was surprised they could be optioned in the M8 Coupe/Gran Coupe but not the M5 unless you was going for the pricier CS trim.

Any programming involved? Looks amazing!
You mentioned the seats are not centered. Are they closer to the door now?

I still need to program as seat adjustment is funky(won’t recline all the way etc). Tried using the M5 seat modules…no go.
I’ll report once I have them coded. Seats are slightly off center to center of the car. But it’s not even noticeable

Let me know if I can swing by and check it out in person. I can't believe I have not seen your car around and we are in the same city.
