Azurite Black or Donington Grey for M5 Comp

I've had a Donington Grey M5 Comp on order for a while...and recently another dealer who I hadn't spoken to for a while came back with a really good offer on an Azurite Black M5 Comp...similar monthly lease rate.

So now I'm wondering if I should take the Azurite Black since it's a little less "common" on the M5 Comp.

Thoughts? What color would you choose?

I own an azurite black. I think the best thing would be for you to see the colors in person. It's a pretty personal thing.

I've no regrets on my choice, for what it's worth.

Everything else being equal I would choose the Azurite Black; not only is it less common but I just like it better. This is really an individual preference so take it for what it's worth.

Good luck!

Don't worry at all about what's common. You will very rarely come across another in person anyway. Look at as many as you can in person and get whichever speaks to you the loudest!!

I have DG over full black and no regrets. If I had to pick another color it would be Macao Blue. Such a unique, really dope color.

I was given the same choice when my Donington Grey was in order. Someone had cancelled their black sapphire and it was available immediately while my order was still a month away. Believe me I was tempted but I held out and have no regrets. I would stick with what you ordered.

Of the darker colors Azurite is the nicest and least common and that would be my choice if I were choosing a dark color.

Personally I would choose Donnington, such a classy yet sporty color that accentuates the beautiful lines on the M5. There is a picture of a Donnington over Aragon that was posted on the forum earlier this week, stunning!

Can't go wrong either way, good luck!!

Here is an example of the sublime blue effects from the color layers and flakes in azurite paint. It's a lousy iPhone photo but hopefully gives an idea of the depth of the color. I'll post better photos when the weather clears up in a few days.

I've got the AZ Black - its an awesome color, especially in bright sunlight. Depending where the sun is on the horizon and how the car sits, you get so many different and deep colors ranging from wet, inky black to a dark indigo hue.

Color is really a personal choice, but I'm really happy with the AZ Black.

Azurite Black Metallic definitely changes with the lighting. Sorry for the poor cell phone pictures but you can get an idea. It is much more visual in person.

Both are great. Take out a coin, flip it and let that make the choice for you.

Thanks everyone for their feedback...I've decided to stick with DG. I have black on my current car and want something a little easier to maintain. The upkeep on black is insane!

I love my DG M5C, but ultimately a personal choice like the others had mentioned in this thread. Sunshine really brings it on...

I went with DG because it really shows the lines of the car. I loved Azurite in sunlight. Either one is a great choice. This is my first BMW that wasn't blue.

That pic looks like a delivery pic from at the dealership (otherwise your garage looks just like a BMW showroom). How did you get the reflector swap done before taking delivery?
