I've never been disappointed with a MPE so I stuck with what I know. Once again, I'm super happy with the results.

2nd the MPE can pass as a stock exhaust. If I get pulled over I can just say nope it's stock look at the logo. Hard to do when you have an Akra logo on your tips. We have an obsessed cop around my parts that will ticket you for everything he can come up with. Im trying to avoid this guy as much as possible Heck there is even a "spotted" page created just for him on Facebook.

For me, I like the sound better than akra, slightly cheaper is still cheaper, tips look much better, and it's considered OEM.

Thanks would appreciate it. Hoping it clears the 70mm outlet of the exhaust pipe. I think if it's in the 72-74mm we're golden, and if bigger than that, some welding will do the trick.

Will do, I reached out to Vendor for fitment verification, waiting for response.Worse comes to worse I'll have them welded on or something as I love the look but am happy with Sport exhaust just not the sport tips.

paper not signed in ink?!?! hahaha...cops lack of caring is a pro and con down here in FL. I can roll around without being blinded by the sun with all windows tinted and exhaust roaring but then the guy next to me is missing a wheel while playing candy crush rolling down the highway at 90.

If you go to the shop BMW website on your mobile device and look at M performance parts, you will see it listed for about $728. For some reason on the desktop site, it doesn't separate the main exhaust system from the tips, which are separate part numbers.

I'm convinced the stock exhaust ends that hold the tips will have to be modified because I do not see a notch in the Performance Tip to accommodate the pins that align the tip. It will have to be cut off, Im sure any Exhaust shop will get them on for me.

I think you're right on the M-sport exhaust/competition fitment....I have 2 aftermarket tips to test fit soon.....will need feedback on the Mperformance tips

I have a measurement caliper on the way. Do you guys want diameter of the outlet pipes in mm? I must say, the finish of these tips is impressive. I must admit, though, I did not put the tips on my MPE myself, so I have no idea how much clearance they have before bolting them down.

Hey,

So the replica (that you bought) and real M performance tips (from the past) have 70mm inlets, the new F90 M5 exhaust has a 70mm outlet, so they aren't compatible unless you chop off part of the exhaust outlet pipe and weld it directly on which is incredibly difficult to get exactly right. They can't slide over each other at all.

I'm hoping that the new MPerformance exhaust tips released for the F90 M5 are bigger than 70mm. That's what we need to find out. If the inlet for the tips is 72mm or bigger we're golden.

We need the diameter of the inlet of the MPerformance tips. We already know the outlet of the stock F90 M5 exhaust is 70mm. Thanks, much appreciated.

If the outlet is 70, and the new tips slide on and then get bolted down with a circumferential clamp, wouldn't the inlet have to be at least 72mm to slide on? Maybe not, I guess 71 might give enough clearance. Either way, I'll find out once the calipers arrive.

Yes, both are 70mm.

I imagine the pipe material thickness is 1mm, just a guess but it would probably have to be 72mm minimum for it to work. If it's 74mm or bigger the clamp won't be able to tight down enough, that's when welding becomes the solution.

I've already posted this in the past, on both non-CP and CP F90, exhaust piping (after you remove the stock tips) isnt the same size throughout.

To fit aftermarket tips which typically have clamp and bolt hardware you will likely need to chop off the factory centering pins. In addition, factory exhaust piping is larger after the centering pins 75mm and its 70 behind the centering pins. See pic. All i'm saying depending on aftermarket tip you buy and its lenghth you may not be able to bolt it up unless you go to muffler shop and have the exit pipes adjusted to correct size.. i simply didnt want to go that route and its only a matter of time before someone makes bolt on tips using factory exhaust center pins for plug and play affair.

That's great info. I knew the pins would have to be severed off and the stump ground down flush with the pipe, but I suppose most people could do that with a hack saw/reciprocating saw and a Dremel grinder. I guess all that's left is for me to measure the inlet diameter of the M performance tips for these guys.

I'm test fitting these also which are sold specifically for the F90 M5
