PPF Worth it?
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com I am buying the car and plan on keeping it for a while. I know a lot of people don't do PPF and are happy without it too. Thoughts? |

I would recommend it based on your plans to keep the car for a long time.

Yea worth it for sure. For 7k I’d try and get the car and wheels ceramic coated too.

Agree 100% with josec70 and crypto, even though I don’t have it on my M5 because it’s a lease. Cars that I own and/or I keep for a while definitely get full body PPF and ceramic coat. Since you purchased it and plan to have it, I’d say definitely go for it.
The car will look as good as it does when you first get it even a couple years down the road with the proper maintenance.

you can lower the cost , by doing a track pack which covers the areas at high risk which is a fraction of the cost
in our area extended track pack is 2400 full is 5500 k |

Definitely worth it for peace of mind, I'd do full just so you don't see the edges and seams, and if you have frozen paint it's necessary imo.

I have full PPF, and it's game changing for BSM, in my opinion. Lot more difficult to swirl a self-healing film. Wouldn't own a black vehicle without doing it. Leasing, I don't see the point, to be honest.

Yep, 100% worth it...if you own it. Just did the XPEL track pack option on my M5 and looks awesome. You'll thank yourself the next time you see that rock coming at your hood or front end knowing you have at least a layer of protection.

+1 in both regards. I have BSM and I lease. If I owned it, it would be full PPFed and ceramic coated for sure.

My experience so far. Bought my 21' used with around 8k miles. Saw that the previous owner had PPF'd the front bumper, hood, and fenders only. It looked like the crappy precut kind done by dealers with the ends of film almost 1/4 inch off from edges instead of wrap around. I was like ok cool whatever, free PPF...
Not even 1 year into driving and having a few cocky RWD's launch and spit rocks at me, i end up with scratches all over my CF roof, rockers, A pillars, and all the way back to the upper trunk/wing area. Car in the shop now getting a 2 stage paint correction, rock chip repair, full hand cut Xpel PPF. Also getting full ceramic coat including wheels/calipers. As well as protecting and installing and around 8-10 carbon fiber pieces that i have been collecting over the last year. Getting a sweet deal by one of the best shops in the Toronto area so i can't say i will ever have any regrets. Plan on keeping this beauty for a very long time. If you're gonna do it, make sure you find quality work first. Price should be second when it comes to this type of work. Attention to detail makes a huge difference. Congrats on your purchase and good luck! |

I only did the front-facing areas only with Xpel, I don't like the whole car wrapped as I still like to feel real paint for coatings, maybe it's just me.
