I am waiting for the update to our software to allow the car to use the Remote 3D view function (currently works in 7 series and some 5 series).

Is this an update that the dealer has to install? Or is it an auto download like the nav updates?

We are in the US and it is not yet available. Hopefully it's coming.

I called late last week as I having an issue with my Connected app and they went to check on the status and indicated that it is still a problem for US subscribers and that they had no ETA for resolution.. Poo

It's available!!! I just tried 3d remote view again and it's now available in the US.

Dam it, I actually looked at the friggen AP while I was out barbacueing and did not see the Remote 3D view until NOW!

Works well, but a bit slow to load.

There must have been a software update that happened a few days ago. My stereo shut down and rebooted while I was driving. Then after that I noticed that the "Left cellphone in car" warning was working for a NON-wireless charging phone. I still did not determine what position the phone has to be in, or just have to block some sensor?

I'm not seeing the option to enable Remote 3D View in iDrive in the Privacy settings. How do I get this feature?

The car must have the Parking assistance plus package.
Which is included with the Executive package.
Next your BMW assist HAS TO HAVE BEEN SUBMITTED.
NEXT!
Go into your settings under IDrive settings.
Select Data privacy at the bottom.
Lastly select remove 3D view and ensure it's checked on.

Thanks for the info. I have the executive package. What go you mean by BMW assist has to have been submitted?

Researched this yesterday and ran across this solution which worked for me....

Has anyone succeeded in using the remote 3D view on their phone? In the BMW Connected App it tells me that "Remote 3D View is disabled. Please enable the functionality in the vehicle. My vehicle>iDrive settings>Data Privacy>Remote View 3D". Problem is, i don't have a "Remote View 3D" option on the Data Privacy page.

SOLUTION:

Update the software by going to ConnectDrive in iDrive, press the option button on iDrive, and updating Assist software. Problem solved

Thanks that worked. I now see Remote 3D View in Privacy Settings. Now for some reason when trying to add my vehicle, the code showing in messages won't work in the connected app. I tried resending the code many times and even deleted and readded my vehicle. This app/software is flaky!
