Nobody else is having a problem with launch control putting down the power on initial launch? I can’t get my tires to break loose no matter what I do even in 45deg f weather and cold roads?

I have to launch very quick after the Flags appear or it shoots to 3000rpm and spin city.....which also causes a short shift to 2nd at 4000 rpm. I have to let off the foot brake as soon as the rpm flashes to 2600ish and it plants and GO

Not using Launch Mode until 3100 Miles

I was planning on using launch mode after the 1,200 but my friend at the dealership recommended against it and sent me the F90 technical manual.

I am sure it would be fine, I am just going to be cautious on this one haha.

I’m at 1500 miles and am trying to launch, maybe that’s the problem? Maybe it’s limiti the rpm to a lower threshold till I put more miles on? Has anybody been using launch control before the 3000 mile recommendation? I did the first service at 1200 miles

If you look at the image posted above yours, it says "the Launch Control is no longer restricted..." So there shouldn't be any issues. It is probably something else but not a restriction from the factory.

Same here. Good to know that it wasn't just me.

Question for folks - Every M I have had has limited the length of time between launches; does anyone know the time or events that needs to pass before a subsequent launch can occur?

Thanks!

For those of you having trouble using launch control, I found this video pretty helpful. It mentions you can use the cruise control rocker to adjust the holding RPM.

Adjustability is only for DCT transmissions, not torque converters.

At the beginning it will go to about 2,5K ( about one second into launch ) if you hold longer like 1/2 second it goes to 3,000 and it's spinning like crazy man.
See on this video
does the launch control auto change every gear or just first into second? I just did it not that long ago, and i felt like it was changing all my gears and a bit before yellow line as well.

Yes, it changes all the gears. It's better that way.
If is sensing to much wheel spin it will short shift. I have seen at 4K shift
That's why I decided with wider and stickier tires

Thanks Miko! One less thing to worry about while flying on the way to 135 trap.

Great sounding car by the way! Can't wait for my Eisenmann race exhaust and black series DP's to come in next week.

Just so you know H&R Springs for M5 are not dropping 1.2" ( numbers are miss leading : )
You need to buy one for M550
