Radio always defaults to FM

Why does the radio always default to the FM setting. I always use the presets setting and it never stays on that setting and everytime I start the car I have to change it back. Is there any way to fix this?

Mine stays on the last station I left it at. It doesn't change to FM or anything else. I am usually on Sirius - wonder if that's why?

Happy to check my settings for you but not sure what option that would be under.

I dont know why this would happen? Maybe go to your favorite source/preset and re set the memory key button?

Mine also stays on the last source. Could be the users that is tied to the key?

The issue was brought up in another thread also. The issue is that it defaults to source when you were originally in presets. Example: while in presets if the last station I listened to to was Sirius the system defaults to Sirius on the next day. You have to go back and select presets if you want to see your other preset stations.

+1 on this issue. Not every time, but frequently enough to be annoying.

That is an iPhone thing. It apparently is too hard for the programers at Apple to work around this. "Oh, nothing is truly random." BS. Add a play counter and go to the first song not already played until all the counters are the same number and so forth.

At least the on board music storage remembers where you left off and continues. Not so much for the iPhone.

Hey maybe thats a neat idea for a work around. Put everything from the phone on the cars hard drive and shuffle the music.

I feel like doc from back to the future in this thing trying to work out all the bugs I hope my kids never have to.

That's what I did. I bought a large usb drive and transferred my music library from my computer to my car. I also transferred my main playlist from iTunes.

I've been slowly moving my music collection to the car, it's labor intensive, have to export from iTunes, then I make sure all the album art is on the files, then put on 32mb SD card, then import. I think the SD car limit is 32 mb? yes, MB? LOL. I have a 64 GB one, have to try it out.

I am going to try that, sounds quicker than SD cards.

Did the head unit read the USB drive? I know you can't stream from a USB drive....

I think it could, but I don't recall 100% (I vaguely recall trying to play a song directly from the USB drive). But I believe there's an option in the Entertainment menu to select USB as the source.
