I really don't like the lack of transparency.

A lack of information is not quite the same as a lack of transparency. They don't have access to the information, the dealer does. They are redirecting, not turning you away.

A number of us are in the same situation. While it would be nice to get the car days after its arrival, I'm not walking to places, and I'll get it at some point. I'm hopeful.

Just wanted to come back and update the thread. I'm picking up Tuesday at the Performance Center! It was definitely exciting to see the car located inside the building in the myBMW app this morning.

For those not getting the straight story from "genius" - call your CA. Mine has been nothing short of incredible about updating me on the status of the car, as well as setting clear expectations about how long the car would be in transit, at the port, in stop sale (due to the RAM issue), etc. The only "unplanned" delay we had was that my car was originally a week 36 build and then moved to week 40 as the supply chain got really out of whack (and in the process I lost B&W as an option).

While it's been a long wait - order placed July 15 (allocation / build number assigned that day), I'm thrilled to be able to finally take delivery. (and I actually HAVE been without a car since I sold my 992S in May).

How did you do this? Don’t you need access to the car in order to add it to the mybmw app?

From my understanding once you SA files the paperwork you're good to go... m5 doesn't use a code, they manually push the car into your account for you.

Im exactly 2 weeks sitting at the port because of this stop sale. I’ve seen most people get their cars about 7-10 days after being at the port, so I’m assuming I’m one of the longer ones.

I’m 8 days at the port, not that I’m counting. I’d really like to get this wrapped up before the end of the year to take advantage of the .9 financing.

I wonder if they work weekends? 🤣

I was just told that the reason other M’s with the RAM stop sale in the same build week as me are coming in and mine is not, is because the RAM for Bowers & Wilkins is harder to come by - and that most likely those other cars didn’t have that option. Not sure how true that is, but just sharing.

Again... once you sign paperwork... im guessing you don't "own" the car yet. As in car is not paid for, you don't have a tag, car isn't registered in your name etc

Been waiting now since 10/21 when the RAM work order was first opened. My car has the B&W system so I'm wondering if the cars that are being fixed before mine don't have that? That's the only thing I can think of that would make sense for my 2 month delay.

Currently day 10 after the RAM module was installed and the car is clear. Still sitting in Baltimore waiting for transport I’d guess.

My car had bowers before they damaged it, the RAM cleared after 13 days. Make sure your SA is busting BMWs balls and it'll get done... mine got done at charleston, I know others that did theirs in NJ after about 10-14 days.

How do you sign paper work / pay for a car that is not in your possession yet? I was told that you have to wait to take possession of the car before signing paperwork.

True, but if you're doing performance delivery you sign paperwork, fund the loan, and do everything about 2 weeks before you actually go get your car. You get a temp tag and a folder of crap you take with you and hand over to the guys at the performance center. Once you have that folder you should have access to the car in the bmw app, if not you can call bmw and with proof of ownership aka your temp tag you can get it added.

Did your RAM clear after 13 days of being at the port or 13 days after the work order opened?

I’m really getting on my guys case now and he said he’s reaching out to the VPC today.

13 days after it got to port.... and I thought that was long lol.... my friends m3 cleared in 7 days. But I never clarified if that was after work order opened or after fitting to port.

My boat docked Nov 2, stop sale was done Nov 16 at like 8 am, Nov 18 they damaged my car and I am waiting for round 2 as we speak (week 4 prod date)

Did everyone here have b&w or is the stop sale is for every car?

It's for cars across the board. Mine is stop sale for RAM and it's HK. I think it sounds like the B&W wait is likely to be longer though.
