Money Factor on this Lease?

I am new at this. Looking at potentially taking over remaining 18 months on this lease for an 2023 M5 Comp. Can someone tell from the cap cost, lease term and data here what the MF is/will be?

Attachment 3402255
I’ll extrapolate the MF by running the numbers a little later, but, holy crap $2400; even with that high MSRP.

Wow, if the new M5 has lease payments north of $2400 per month expect sales not to be brisk.

That's a pretty terrible deal. MF must be crazy high.

For reference, I have a 23, leased 12/22 - cap cost was 154k (all options, tartufo, bunch of port added carbon, MPE, etc).

My MF is .0016625 (3.99 APR) and my out the door is $2,388 for a 36/10 RV 57% / 88k.

for your deal, I get real close to 2399 (2385) just by setting the MF to .0029125 / 6.99APR.

High MF really sucks on high dollar cars.

The lease on my 2020 M5 was $1650 a month, and at the time I thought I got hosed. Yikes...

Most likeley 0.00200+ MF. (In that range)

Depending on when you got the car, MF on M has been in higher 0.00160+ range 2022-2023.

Yes, I know the OP's deal is for an F90 M5, which makes me think the next-generation M5's lease payments are going to be in the $2500 per month range. NO Thank You BMW To That.

Sorry, Greer; my overzealous response was not at you! I was just floored at how horrible the deal was.

Thanks sounds like I will take a pass on it. I appreciate the sound advice. It is a current lease that I was looking into taking over but will look at other options based on the reaction from those who know.

I came out of a highly optioned F90 into another highly optioned F90 comp in Dec 2020 for under 1600/mo. 17 months later I appraised our current economic shit show, looked out to Dec 2023 and decided I wanted no part in an M5 or M8 lease that could be pushing $2500/mo. I dropped the F90 and bought an M850 using their financing at only 2.75% and raised my payment, but not by much. I like these cars as much as the next guy, but I really want a decent discount and a low MF if I'm going to lease a car that is this expensive. It remains just a big ass depreciating asset. Fun as hell, but still..........

It's gonna be tough for awhile.

It's not a "horrible deal" as some are saying. Sticker or payment shock for sure for anyone that purchased or leased 18 months or so ago.

Unfortunately, it's the hand we are dealt right now in the current interest rate environment. At least it has 10K that was applied (somehow) to reduce the cap cost lol. It would really be a disaster of a payment if not!

Agree I don’t understand why this is a “bad deal” at least as far as the money factor is concerned. Interest rates are vastly higher than two or three years ago. Are people saying that some dealers are heavily subsidizing money factors?

If rates don’t change then yeah the new G90 is going to have monster payments whether you buy or lease. To my shock, it doesn’t seem to impact sales at all.

It's a bad deal because there are some of us who also leased in that time period for a lower MF (me). Yes, my payment is pretty salty - but I took all the goodies, and so no complaints from me - I was pleased to get 3.99 on a lease in December of 2022. It appears start of this lease was two months prior and I know at that time, rates were just starting to climb but were definitely 3.99, so yeah who ever wrote the original deal on this one got screwed by the dealer.

Payment shouldn't matter - if you can afford 2500 (or more). But what does matter is not over paying by being over charged for finance or other fees.

And the comment about 10k cap cost reduction being a good deal here is dumb. Whoever acquired the car is either going to lose that in the lease swap, or is likely asking for a downpayment on the lease swap to recover their cash. Remember, total a leased car w significant capital into cap cost reduction and BMW gets that cash, not you. Never ever ever put a dime down on a lease except for up fronts.

A .0029125 Money Factor would be impossible with BMWFS. The Base rate for the 2023 M5 Varied between 0.00165 & 0.00200 between August 2022 and August 2023. Dealers can only mark it up 40 basis points so the highest it would have been is 0.00240. We need to see the other financial sections of the lease to compute the actual money factor and the original MSRP would help. The cap reduction could also have been equity from an expiring lease or a trade in.

That’s going to be the interesting part when it does go on sale and see how they move.

I’d love to believe it won’t affect sales. I feel like despite the weight distribution, the G90’s weight without a doubt will be felt in some aspect. for certain buyers.

I was sold on warming up to the design as I’ve seen what the S68 is like in the X5M but not do I feel like I’d probably just end up getting an F90 once the G90 begins to adjusts its price with its existence.
