New member with question on DPF

Hi there,

New member here, driving a 320D E90. thought I post the question here because most Diesel drivers are in Europe. I had my 320D remapped to 210 BHP. I got in an accident, got hit in the back by a stupid %#@%^& in a traffic jam. The car got repaired and they installed a Diesel Particle Filter aftermarket, because my exhaust was wrecked..now i seem to have lost lots of power, and my fuel consumption has increased significantly. Does anyone have any idea. The dealer told me they have re-programmed the ECU because of the DPF, but that my power should not have changed?

Is the dealer saying they refalshed your ECU, because if so they might have reinstalled the standard map.

Could you not take the car back to the company who chipped your ECU and ask them to have a look.

hah, yeah they also had a 227 BHP programme for the 320D, but they said they Turbo might cause problems, so I went for the 210 BHP..maybe next friday I'll pick the 227 BHP though just stay out of the red zone..

I think it was about 405-410 Nm..not bad for a 2.0 liter diesel..fuel consumption is (was ) great too

Can you tell me some more about this? What did they say would be the problem with the 227 programme, more specific than "turbo might cause problems"? Would it need supporting mods?

I think you should go for it, at least to try out
