Personally - As I am keeping my M5 (2018) - for a long period, probably 10 + years. I did not choose any extended warranty.

My reasons are usually thing begin to fail slightly around the 7-8 year mark when most of these expire. keep the cash in you pocket and expect to pay later when needed is my theory.

And for the coolant tank I plan to replace it this year at 40K and just do it as a maintenance thing every 40K approx.

Picking my 2023 M5 up next week. Any suggestions on how much of a discount I can negotiate on extended warranty/maintenance?

Hey Ben, it was good talking to you. You definitely have the best prices on BMW warranties and service I have seen so far. Your 3rd party pricing is definitely enticing. Just need to get my car next week and then decide which way to go.

I am also planning on keeping my car since it's the last M5 with no electric motor add on, but I am planning on doing some mods and 3rd party warranties are more open to covering things than a CPO warranty that would be void due to modifications.

Word of warning against easycare…
I spoke to them when I was shopping around and they basically hung up on me as soon as I mentioned exhaust modifications. Modifications of any kind it seems are not for easycare

I’m picking up a 2019 m5 in a few days and bmw is offering me EasyCare total care for $6,500. What are your thoughts and can you give more info on what you bought? Many Tx!

Hi all. New to the forum (formally on F80 side) and keen to get more info on any feedback with purchase experience/coverage detail from folks who bought from Epicaccord. Thanks!

venerableluxp, perhaps this might be helpful.

epicaccord is a scumbag.
Do yourself a favor and contact an open, honest, and transparent individual for your warranty; Christine Newman at Steve Thomas BMW in Camarillo, California.

cnewman@stevethomasbmw.com

EDIT — My original post dropped the link. I’ve reattached it above. Take a look over there and decide if that’s the kind of person you want to do business with!

I spoke with him on the phone back in early July of 2022 and he stronghly recommended a company I never heard of and I believe the price was around $2,400 or $2,700. The one thing I did not like, he told me I had to make a decision that day by noon or the prices he quoted would not be valid. I thanked him for his time and the conversation ended. I went a different direction, it made no sense to me that I had to make decision in under two hours or the price would increase.

I appreciate the candid feedback on your experience and am sorry to hear that it (presumably) wasn't a pleasant one.

Thanks, Egrunt. Would you mind sharing with me what you ultimately landed with (cost, level of coverage, etc.)?

Very typical of what I’ve heard since the start of the “expose Ben” thread that was locked.

You’re welcome. I don’t think there’s a single person here that would tell you not to do business with Christine.

Makes sense to me: if you don't have time to research the coverage he can just use smoke to make it seem great, then it's too late after you sign. It creates a false sense of urgency as well.

$2700 and you didn't buy it for a M5?

I don't know about epicaccord, but I can say I called Ben myself and it was fine. He just comes off as salesy, but I don't have any doubt he can deliver. I wouldn't take anyone words from here but you should call him yourself and see for yourself. What's worse that can happen? You hang up and move on.

Egrunt did and was able to get almost a couple thousand off what they cost.
