Its so exciting to see it move through different stages, fingers crossed that it gets through the QC quickly and gets to the state side in a couple weeks. |

Congrats! Mine is a week 6 build and has been just sitting at "Production Begins" for over 2 weeks now. I think I drew the short straw after seeing all these getting built a week earlier than scheduled.

@Willie_Beamen69 did you order an individual color? I just got an allocation that was at 111 Status by the dealer, then I asked for an individual color and status became 102, was wondering how long it takes from 102 to go back to 111 or 112. So still waiting for a build week and was just curious

OMGMike, do you have something you can send me that shows all the steps you had on that graphic after getting your production number to final delivery? I just got my production number, and on BMW site, it has been 'stuck' on that first dot for a few weeks. I'm just wondering what other steps show up on the build and delivery timeline and how long each took for your order. Congrats on your delivery and I decided to get the CCB's also based on recommendations from this forum.

Again, not OP, but here was my timelines until I gave up on my ordered car due to numerous production week delays:
Tuesday, March 8, 2022 - Build In (Submitted To BMW) Tuesday, March 15, 2022 - Production Number Received Tuesday, March 15, 2022 - Plugged In Production Number to BMW MyGarage Tuesday, March 15. 2022 - Status Shows "Order Received" Friday, March 25, 2022 @ 15:00 - Status Shows "Scheduled For daily Production pack" Monday, April 4, 2022 - Status Regresses to "Order Received" Thursday, April 7, 2022 @ 18:00 - Status Shows "Scheduled For Production" Tuesday, May 3, 2022 - Reached Out To dealership GM to switch from 50th Anniversary emblems to standard emblems Friday, May 6, 2022 - Status Regresses to "Order Received" Tuesday, May 10, 2022 - Called BMW Genius To ASk About Status Regression - Genius Says I am now Week 26 production Wednesday, May 18, 2022 - GM says it's a general delay, not because of emblem change (I don't believe that still!) Wednesday, May 18, 2022 - Genius says still scheduled for Week 26 production, but their system shows "scheduled for daily production pack" but I still see "order received" in my garage. I eventually got pushed to Week 31, then 36, then 41, then 46. I gave up in the last week of May and found my identical spec at a dealer in another state.

Thanks for the information. Sorry to hear about your horror story about build and delivery. Makes me more than a little worried about mine. Sounds like I should hold off on selling my current M5 until my order actually starts getting built. |

From what I am seeing on the forums, these situations are not occurring anymore. I just saw a new forum member say that he went from ordered car to dealership in 8 weeks. That was unheard of during even normal times, let alone the current climate. P.S. I noticed one step omitted in the codes list. I don't remember the number, but it is "Quality Check." You can pretty much rest assured at that point that production is complete, and after QC, you'll take the train ride from Dingolfing to Bremerhaven. You may see "awaiting carrier transport" at that point. Congratulations! We can't wait to see your new car.

I ordered mine on 10/8/21, got a production number a few days before Christmas, and took delivery on March 31st, 2022. Mine was essentially six months from the day I placed my order with my dealer to taking delivery. I made multiple changes to my order prior to getting my production number and build week but after that I didn't make any changes. I honestly was expecting around a nine month wait based on a friend's experience with a new M3. His took nine months from order to delivery, so I actually ended up being pleasantly surprised. Sounds like orders are back to normal timelines, so I sincerely wish you the best of luck and hope you don't have to wait as long as I did! That said, I'd definitely do it all over again — absolutely love my Donington Grey Metallic '22 M5C! The car is an absolute beast and dream to drive! And you absolutely won't regret the CCBs! I did overestimate their stopping power in the early days but thankfully avoided any accidents or damage, lol, so keep that in mind! |

You don't see the numerical codes on the website, just the status such as "Production Begins" etc. So you have to look at the phrase and match it with ResIpsaLoquitur's list. Or alternatively if you are on google chrome, just open the developer tools when you are on that page and it gives you the status code. Hope it helps

Hi OP,
congrats to your new BMW M5 Competition. Donington grey looks very nice and elegant and i also really like the Tartufo interieur! Good choice! Regarding the carbin ceramic brakes i would not spec my M5 Competition with that option, escpecially when i am not going to drive on a racetrack. CCB are built to be used on a racetrack because they need high temperatures to work properly. When you are driving the car on normal street roads the "standard"M-brakes will do well. Also the CCB tend to make squeaking noises and i am not sure if you really want to have a squeaking M5. Also replacement is way more expensive. If you can i would go back to the M-Perfomance brakes... but that is just my opinion on that matter. |
