M5 CS info ?
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com F90 M5 CS info has been posted, per ynguldn: "F90 M5 CS will be in production for precisely one year from March '21 to February '22. In the end, it won't be as extreme as many hoped. The same engine as regular M5 tuned to 625hp, CF buckets, more CF in the body, no middle passenger in the back, special wheels seem to be the only major things. In production in March for one year as a 2022 model." I think the problem is there is not any information to provide. People are saying the car will be released this year but we are in November now and there really has not been anything mentioned. There was the video on the race track which I believe was shot in May but was shown again in later months, but really nothing else. Time is running out for a 2020 reveal.

I'm in the same boat. Waiting for any news.
My sales guy went to their product trainer and said there is no news on any fronts. Luckily, dealers are usually the last to know. Lol

Gnaluzu, based on the CS you have, what do you expect to be the difference between the M5 Competition and the M5 CS? Should we expect a stripped down interior, a much stiffer suspension, what else. I think reports have indicated more horsepower, something lie 640. Why not just go over the top and make it 800 hp? I don't think the cost of this engine going from 617 to 800 would be significant. I believe there are tunners doing it, and I don't think the cost is too significant.

I wish I had any idea of what they are gonna do. Honestly, I hadn't done much research when I got my M3CS. I just wanted out of my X5 lease and the CS had been sitting on the lot for about 5 months. Was too good of a deal to pass up. For the M5CS I am really hoping that they some how figure out a way to improve engine/oil cooling. I did the Advanced M School at Thermal last November and couldn't do more than 2 laps on the big track without the M5 going into limp mode. Was really disappointing. I would guess that the M5CS would have a marginal power increase (M3CS was only 10hp more than the M3 Comp). Some weight reduction and slight aero would be cool, but again, it's just to hard to guess.

Can you tell us where you got your info? Or are you just speculating?

Who is going to pay well above $150K for this car for the HP to have such a small move? I say please confirm the source as someone from BMW.

If all you care about is power, then you may or may not have missed the point of the CS model.

As for the specs, its kinda disappointing to see. Single digit hp gain and some CF bits just sound like a let down. I've got the #1 allocation spot at my local dealership and based on this, I'm hesitant that I'll move forward with the car. But, I'll wait to see what it looks like I guess.

I'm well aware of the CS lineup. While it is more than a power upgrade, it should have a decent power upgrade to complement the other refinements and set itself apart from the Competition model.
