2020 M5c VS 2021 M5c VS 2020 M8c

I am a bit stumped as to which direction to go. I want to do a JB4 on whatever car I have primarily for the part to full throttle umph moreso than the full on 130+ traps speeds (my days of tracking are practically at a standstill).

-Seems the 2020 M5c will be the fastest on JB4
-LC1/2021 M5c will be almost as fast to 60 from what I have seen so far (which will be good enough for me for the one to two years I will keep the car). I probably will not mod this one at all.
2020/2021 M8c will be similar to the 2020 M5c on JB4 (mostly looking at 0-60)

What is y'alls take?

Its a negligible call here IMHO. In a controlled environment maybe the F90 M5 by hair over the M8 GC but not sure about the Coupe. On the street its clearly going to be who gets the jump and holds the line. Its just too close with the cars weighing within range and having the same motors.

JB4 in any car will make it faster than any car without - but thats my thoughts based on valid draggy data Ive seen.

Clearly the M8 does not look like the F90 so thats the only absolute difference that is clear.

Its all the same car. I went with the M8 because of the crazy lease deals making it significantly cheaper then an M5, and also i prefer the interior because it has real buttons for all the controls, and the steering wheel position is much more comfortable for me.

Agreed, looks is the major difference.
I have seen the M8s constantly outrun the M5s though (obviously online only)

Really? better lease deals than a M5 right now?

the coupe.

Significantly better then any M5, at most you will get 10% off on an M5, M8s can be had 20-22% off

Its why i went with an M8, i dont take passengers and its the same car plus i like how few of them i see on the road.

I have to drive the M8 ASAP. Yes I am seeing great lease rates for the coupe and I will definitely be all over that if it holds through when my current lease ends

I may be imagining this but it seems the consistency of launch control and more aggressive launches get better with each year.
MY 2020 being among the best (until we see more numbers from LCI/2021s)

Possible the launch algorithm from the M8 being incorporated into the M5 in latter years???
