Stupid race. Stick a blower on the M5's V10 and it would KILL the E55. No problems.

its cause the US spec M5 is crippled. just like most M cars in the states.

The E55 has LESS HP than the V10 M5
The E55 just has much more torque

so......the V8 is supercharged, and is a automatic that geared for quarter mile runs. if we had launch control it M5 would own the E55.

Two jet engines bolted to an M5 would be a world first and world record for BMW. Who cares? This is a pointless debate. Two different cars for two different purposes.

I took my car in for service today and saw an E55 sitting on the lot. I went over and checked it out. Here's what I think of it :"ehhh..." M5 on the other hand "WOWser!!" The seats in the E55 felt cheap and so was the plastic. I wouldnt spend money on that car. Im not just saying that cus I drive a bmw. I think most of you would agree with me that the M5 looks and feel a lot better than an E55 AMG.

From standing start (with launch control) or from rolling start, the M5 wins... Here is a race with a modded E55.

We did a 100 mpg roll and the M5 still lost
Too bad it does not have launch control in the US
I agree that the M5 looks and feels much better then the E55
I would take the M5 over the E anyday
