Right then, new tyre now fitted and steering back to normal and no tramlining.

Overall impressed with the Kwik Fit branch I used, the only faux pas they made was to fit a bog standard black dust cap. Luckily I 'know a man who can' get me another metal one. Interestingly though, it was two women who changed the tyre etc. and I have to say that this is the first time I can remember that my alloys have not been left with any marks or scuffs.

The insurance was a formality, just a phone call for authorisation. So if I'd paid for the tyre insurance (£195) I've already got that back as the total for the tyre, fitting, balancing & valve would have been just short of £200 apparently. I also have to go back to Kwik Fit when I've covered 100 miles so they can re-torque the wheel nuts. This is something I've never experienced before and was wondering if any of you guys had. Is it a Kwik Fit thing or do you think it may because the new tyre was an insurance claim?

Great result Helen. I personally would never touch Kwik Fuwk with a barge pole, but they seem to have been very professional for you.

BB nope quite normal to retorque lots of aftermarket tyre places will usually mention it on the receipt.

stealers will probably just look at you as if you are taking dutch.

KF did my wheels - as my lease company only use them. They were quite good and didn't manage to mark my wheels
