heard nothing but great things about the RC. But everything is up in the air these days imo. BMW will dig into your car if there is a major failure...

As far as I know 2020+ cars are still locked by the Bosch ECU. I'm sure it will be cracked but I'm not aware it's happened yet.

BMW wanted to crack down due to OTA (over-the-air) updates.

Does CS have heated steering wheel?

Also, why are tailpipes bronze on some cars and silver on others? They need to be bronze.

Seats are heated, but I don't think the wheel is. Living in Arizona that isn't something that I normally check, but I will take another look.

As for the exhaust, it seems that the press car or maybe just the launch car had the bronze exhaust. All other cars appear to be stainless.

^^^Idiots who decided to remove heated steering wheel function should be fired. It must be the same person who decided on a center console that doesn't open. Being not-picky, of course, but I really love heated steering wheels, especially those wrapped in alcantara.

Forgot how well the M5 CS handles. It unexpectedly shrinks around you. Feels 2x smaller and lighter than my 2021 E63S wagon. Steering is the highlight here. Light and delicate, then heavy and responsive. Everything you want it to be at the right moment. BMW has done a marvelous job with this electric steering. Dare I say, perfected.

I hate BMW lately (hideous designs and M-everything) but can say, without reservation, that I love this car. The glowing reviews are not wrong. More thoughts later.

IMHO the bucket seats are Achilles' heel of the glorious M5 CS. BMW makes some of the greatest seats in the automotive industry, particularly those found in the F10/F90 M5. It's a shame they're not offered in the M5 CS. M5 CS chasing perfection here but the seats are a great reminder that the perfect car doesn't exist.

It's nice to have that option, especially in cold environment

I'm gonna go ahead and politely disagree with you. I think these seats are perfect for what BMW was trying to accomplish with the M5 CS. It isn't supposed to be like the standard M5 and I'm glad that they didn't make these seats optional.

With such low production numbers, I think the entire package is phenomenal exactly the way it is built.

^^^I used to think this before today... Spent a few hours in the car and my middle back started to ache. This never happened after hundreds of hours in GT3s with buckets. Hopefully it was a fluke today.

Also, the senseless carbon fiber ballsack holder makes me angry.

Point of clarification…. It's a penis shelf, not a ball sack holder.

Thanks for coming to my TedTalk

I'd think you will be fine. Production runs until June or July. Doubt you would have delays that long.

I'm going to go ahead and rudely disagree with you. While the bucket seats may not be comfy for the back....

The F90 M5's seats on track are absolute crap. Everyone who sits in the seats swings back and forth from side to side. Might be fine for taking your grandmother for the groceries and going on a three hour interstate ride. Many many other BMW non-bucket seats are tremendously better for keeping your butt and back not moving around under high G. For a car that can corner at this level, the regular seats were horrible.

So the bucket's may not be perfect... But the whole purpose of this car with the removals of many of the systems to make these lighter suggests a focus that is not toward comfort, but rather performance.

And frankly, being a fat man with a bad back - I've been in these seats for a six hour ride each way, and they were just as good for me as the regular F90. I suspect it's individual dependent for comfort.

Shawn

Interesting. It just goes to show you how it dependent it is on body shape. My CS seats are far more comfortable to me than Porsche buckets to the extent that I ordered my new GT3 with 4-ways.

I love how people are trying to convince other folks how either seats are great or shite. Share your opinion and that's that. Let people make their own decision.

Personally, I like the design of these seats, but In my opinion they are PITA to get in/get out. I know some people will tell me there's is way to get inside of them. Well, not everyone is flexible, or young to get inside of them.
