Have the M8 over the year, stage 2, no issues just yet. Not eating the oil at all, I do service the car every 4k miles though (oil change)

You came here with preconceived notions regarding S63 reliability issues, and didn't want to hear what members on the forum with first hand experience are telling you. If your sole purpose in posting was uncovering myriad S63 engine failures among our members cars, you've failed to do so.

Maybe it's time for you to move on.
Post pretentious and "bmw" dick comment I've read while on this form.

I'm looking for responses that it's reliable or not. Pretty simple.
no, he nailed it.
Suck my dick
Wrong forums.

You're probably looking for Grindr…

According to the company that tuned my F90 these engines hold up very well as long as you put in the right fuel for the map you got and don't stress the engine until it is up to operating temperature. They do a lot of F90s with no issues so far.

If you want to keep the S63tu and Tu4 reliable do maintenance and keep it stock tune ,downpipes intakes and exhaust are fine, frequent oil changes every 3 to 5k

If you want to see how many blow up check out Pure Performance Texas and RK autowerks on instagram ,Pure does about 15 S63tu engines a month and the weak points are the shit rods and pistons.
I broke a piston ringland on my M6 due to leaning out from a faulty injector, but I had stage 3 tune ,I wish BMW would put forged pistons and rods like other manufacturers

Dont let it fool you the S63tu4 thats in the F90 M5 and M8 are just as fragile as the older S63tu same shit rods and pistons
There is quite a few M5 & M8s on Pures instagram that are completely grenaded ,but yeah they were all sauced up

Any engine with or without a power adder, detonation will kill it every time.
Oil temp should be warm before twisting any motor as well.
Is the cost of a motor worth 10hp or 20hp?
Keep the tune safe, there's always someone faster.

But I’ll get a CEL with downpipes and no tune, which would probably cause the car to go in limp mode, no?

So if I ran the car with just downpipes and a very conservative map on JB4, the car is fine?
Not somebody who goes 100+ mph everyday and races, but I do like to get on it when I’m cruising (0-60/80 mph pulls), (30/40-90/100mph) rolling pulls if the road is clear
