Any riders here?
Curious if I have any fellow riders here? I'm currently sans bike, but am thinking very hard about buying a new Ducati or BMW this weekend. I previously owned a CBR 600 F4i, CBR 600RR, and CBR 1000RR. The wait for my M5 is killing me, need some speed in my life!

I too am between bikes. In the past I’ve had a 2008 GSX-R 600 and 2012 R1. I’m over the full on sport bikes and their lack of comfort beyond a 2 hour ride, but have been strongly considering a Ducati Streetfighter V4S or Yamaha MT-10.

I used to ride lots, 300km when I was in my 20s. Stand up wheelies down every second road lol.
F4i and 600rr as well. Honda makes good bikes. |

I am an old biker. Highly recommend Aprilia Tuono Factory! Had a MY20 last year. Lovely ride with quickshifter, blipper, decent power and the most intoxicating engine note. Get the acra slipon and raceECU and you'll be in heaven!
If you want pure sportsbike BMWs S1000RR is sweet. Had one a few years back. |

I used to ride, but as I’ve aged I’ve decided my reaction time isn’t up to the situations I put myself in on a motorcycle. Raced back in the 90s on a little Kawasaki EX500 at Willow Springs after racing a BMW 2002 in the early 70s with SCCA in California. Willow is very different on two wheels instead of four.
Been through many bikes over the years and enjoyed the evolution of the designs from the different manufacturers. Started on a Suzuki GS750E in 1979 and went to the 16” wheel version ES750E in 1983. The FJ1200 Yamaha arrived in 1986 and that was stolen in 1992. Had a CBR 900RR when they first arrived in 1993, it was also stolen two years later and I tried a Ducati 916 in 1995. Loved the bike, but rides longer than 200 miles were too much for my clutch hand! The very forward riding position and the heavy clutch weren’t friendly for longer rides. I had both the Ducati and a 1993 Yamaha GTS 1000 until I sold the Ducati in 1997. Finally traded in the Yamaha on a BMW K1200S in 2009. Liked the BMW and that prompted me to trust their early sport bike effort in the S1000RR in 2010. The K1300S had some good refinements to the K1200S version and I traded up in 2011. I’d moved to Michigan in 2001 and was able to have fun at Grattan Raceway on the S1000RR, and then in the F10 M5 I bought in 2013. Got too old for the 1000RR on the track and the street and sold it in 2015, but still had the 2011 BMW K1300S for sporty touring. Then, even that began to feel too risky for my old bones and it sold in 2018. Sorry for the long reminiscence, once I got started I couldn’t stop! |

Honestly while I'm still sharp I want the bike that will send me back in time. 🤣🤣🤣. Having a supercharged bike is just another level of speed which I want to feel.

I had a Night Rod, but sold it. I regret it and will probably try to pick one up again later in the year. It was such a fun bike and always got complements.

I used to have a turbocharged Yamaha R1. Loved it to bits. Nothing beats power wheeling through all gears. I testdrove the H2 naked version. The only downside is that it isn't very nimble. More of a Hayabusa kind of a ride. |

Rangeley, Maine. Family used to have some property up in that area. Spent alot of my summers/winters there. Great riding roads.

From what I hear, the new ones aren't nearly as engaging as the 2016-2019 models....

The later model feels vaguely neutered by comparison and doesn't sound nearly as good as the 2016 - 2019 model, which can be positively antisocial with its bangs, crackles and pops when you release the throttle. The noise never fails to make me laugh...it's the kind of aural behaviour we wish we could get from our M5s |
