19 inch ASA AR1's... Yay or nay?
Just wondering what everyone thinks of the 19 inch ASA AR1's from Tire Rack... What I really want to know is if that is the best 19inch wheel I can get for my money (around $2000 with Eagle F1 tires) or if there should be other 19 inch rims I should be considering for that price.

Looks good to me. Not sure wether I´d want 19ers becuase of the performance, but looks wise, those wheels are great.

Velocity CSL Reps are better for my eye. I like how the spokes don't curve in towards the lip. But having said that, the AR1's are very sweet. They're a very close 2nd in my book.

Anyone have pics of the car in motion with the rims? I have seen the white, the black and the graphite cars here with the rims but any other pics in addition?

ASA actually makes OEM wheels for a lot of automotive companies. Including the Germans!! Check their website. BBS will not license their specs to anyone else, must mean something. Tirerack sells wheels from dozens of companies and reccomends them highly. I trust them, have for over 10 years. They actually TEST all their products extensively. Maybe paintball pete works for a company that doesn't sell them? Click below.

Here is their website, and you can see how they make them. Low pressure casting, so not the cheapest.

I think the design is fine but the only problem I have with the 19 inch ASA AR1's is that it looks a lot smaller than a 19" should/would look. I don't know if it is because of the concave design of center but when I see pictures of the car I always feel that it looks like an 18". Just my opinion, I still love the design of the wheels.

This has been loosely discussed before. It has nothing to do with AR1's design per se, it has to do with the fact that its a mesh style as opposed to long, linear spokes that go from the center towards the outside radius of the wheel (Hartge classic II's come to mind). This may be one reason that many of us are getting them in a large 19" size. In my opinion, mesh style wheels work best with most bemers, including e90. an 18 inch non mesh may give the appearance of a larger wheel.
