No, no need to for it, there are plenty m-badges all over the car! Exactly this was his argument: "When it's not an M, why are there referrals to it every where you can look!?".

Not sad at all, ignorance is bliss! Or a child hand is filled with some candy, even when the child is 30+.

Actually, the badge doesn't matter, we all know a 'real' M is a real M and not a M performance. But we're no children. So who is blessed?
Legit 😉

Of course, but that is a subtility only real car geeks know. Besides, for the informed community, there are way more visual clues to recognise the real beast.

Often times the coupe version of an ///M car is nearly identical in length, width, and weight to the sedan version. Case in point, e36 M3 coupe vs e36 M3 sedan or e90 M3 vs e92 M3 (sedan's 3724 lbs vs the coupe's 3704), etc. were all within roughly 20-30 lbs of each other.

The reason some of us prefer sedans has nothing to do with the extra "effort" required to fit people in the back. It's about everyday practicality. The rear seats in a coupe and the leg room is simply not on par with the sedan.

Nobody is "lumbering" anything, since the extra 2 doors add virtually no extra weight or size. The doors in the coupe are always elongated to make up for what would have otherwise been 4 doors with a shorter quarter panel and rear end.
in fact the e90 m3 sedan is actually shorter than the coup, but also slightly wider. So as far as length, the coup is the more lumbering version!

BMW in the past has also said no turbo or AWD M cars.....in the end BMW is in the business to make money and will make whatever the market demands.

This of course means that there is no M2 Gran Coupe planned as the 2 Series Gran Coupe shares the same front drive platform as the 1 Series hatchback. On this, Flasch said: "We have a very strong offering in the M2 so we figure there's no need to have [both] a high-performance car based on the [rear-wheel drive] 2-Series [Coupe] and then a performance car based on the [front-drive-based] 1-Series."

Looks like the 2 Series Gran Coupe will top out at the M235i xDrive Gran Coupe.
Have to laugh at the "we already have a 2 series high performance so don't need a 1 series high performance variant"... which goes directly against the 85 other M and non-M variants that crowd each other's space.

Very nice. It used to be the 5 series was for a classy guy who didn't want to be noticed. The brand got big becuase it was always classy guys driving it but now people who aren't classy want to be associated with the wealth or prestige or whatever so they want the badges and loud designs to show everyone what they have

Back in the day's BMW said no AWD M cars, couple year's later here we go! If there gonna be a market for FWD M car they gonna build it and earn the big $$$. It's all about business and making profit.

M=motorsport.

There has NEVER been a FWD motorsport car from BMW.

Hope this puts any doubt to rest.

Nope. M = Marketing.period.

The day savs were introduced was the day the actual Motorsport in ///M died.

The absolute funniest thing ever is M competition SUVs
Competition for what I ask??! Who takes trucks to the track????....Please!

I say bring on the M2GC and cash in some more, tradition and purety is loooong gone for the once mighty ///M
