I am doing this exactly the same. The Sotozeros are going on November 7th at my local BMW dealer.

Yeah - I’ll be switching back and forth on the same wheels. I’ve done it on previous cars and it hasn’t been a problem for me. Getting a place you trust to do it properly and not damage your wheels or tyres is probably the main thing to look for.

Mine are now on also, did it Monday evening, it took 45 minutes. Then it snowed on Tuesday, so just in time. LOL.
Mike (squishy snows, dam it.)

20" Michelins symmetrical in front and asymmetrical in back?
I am looking for the same staggered set up on my factory 20" rims. On the Tire Rack website winter tires section only the Pirellis are available for a 275/35 20 and 285/35 20 set up. I looked at Tire Racks winter tires and wheel section and found the Michelin Alpins were available in those same sizes as a part of a staggered winter tire and wheel package.
I called Tire Rack and was told the Michelins were actually available for order by themselves but weren't listed in the winter tire section because the fronts were symmetrical and the rears were asymmetrical. Why they would be available in one section and not the other made no sense to me at all. Either it's a good set up or it isn't, right? What have those of you that have the Michelins found? Is there any difference in the tread pattern between front and rears? I am wondering if there would be any difference in handling due to symmetrical in front and asymmetrical in back. |

No, they won't. The wheels are wide (10 and 10.5J) and the offset is wrong too (ET40 on the 10J and ET32 on the 10.5J). There is a chance they may not clear the strut.
