I am doing it, I have an appointment to have it wrapped next week, they will be also ceramic coating it, pics to follow.

I like the grey but I like the black like my soul

Go for it. People here get all bent on wraps, but honestly I love them. It is a great way to mixup the car and add your own touch. Plus it is temporary. I really like the 3M Firey Orange. If I get sick of my MBB, it will be that or Vendetta.

I'm going to wrap Donington Grey in Xpel matte. So stoked!

You will like it! I had a DG X5M, really liked the color, but when I traded it in for the M5, I wanted to try something new. Here is a comparison pic of matte finish on the side vs regular driver's door. Other benefits of the Stealth / Matte: so easy to keep clean, doesn't show water spots, shows the lines of the car instead of reflecting the road or objects nearby.

I also had Xpel (clear) put on: Front sensors (they work fine), front headlights, door jams (just where ladies heals will scratch), window pillars and CF roof.

I would xpel wrap again in a heartbeat.

I didn't mention that, but you caught it right away. I went with the lightest of tint, but it turned out dark. Hope the local LE don't pull me over. I find the brake lights on the BMWs are like bright tomatoes, especially if you have a dark car. I think my detailer used the same tint one would use on tinting your side windows.

Looks mint!
How was the PPF applied? Wrapped around corners or leaving thin edge? Do the shiny underlay show through?

It was wrapped around the edge wherever it could. Doors, hood, trunk lid, etc. You can barely feel the wrap edge on places like the mirror. It was done really well. I am very happy with the results

Do you have pics after the satin black wrap?

Just wow! If I kept my cars for longer than a dentist appointment, I'd wrap my DG in a heartbeat—THAT LOOKS AWESOME!!!

Exactly how I wrapped mine and looks every bit as good. Except my door handles look like shit. Installer crushed the job everywhere else on the car (all edges are fully tucked, except where the panel comes to a point, then itís cut a few mm back) but even with a few attempts we canít get the handles done properly. Something about the handle bending 2 ways at the same time puts far too much pressure on the film.

What was your solution for the handles?

Forgot to mention, mine is a comp, so it was all stealth on the DG, but the regular high gloss on anything black as well as the CF roof.

I just did this to my 2019 comp. I'm a new member here and am trying to figure out how to post a thread with pics
