20" wheels?
Wife is getting a 535i when she returns from Afghanistan in August. Has anyone got any feedback on the ride quality with 20" wheels on the F10? I'm looking at getting the 312 style in ferric gray but am worried the ride will be uncomfortably stiff with a 35 series tires up front and 30 series in the rear. Maybe the comfort setting would be helpful for that - yes, no, a little?

I've been on 20's almost since I've had the car and I have no issue wit ride quality. My car is also lowered with KW coils and lower then normal and I still thinks it's quite comfortable.
Do you plan to lower the car or get sport suspension? Kev |

If you are going from RFTs to non-RFTs, there will not be a huge change in ride quality. The factory RFTs are stiff off the bat so going to a lower profile non-RFT will not be much of a change.

Probably not. It will be the wife's and she isn't into all that. It will have the M Sport package on there, but I can't stand the gap between the tires and wheel wells that BMW has put on the F10s. Even with 19s and the M Sport it still looks bad to me. That is the reason for going with the 20s, well that and the color and style of the 312 wheels look much better to me. I'm not too crazy about the stock M Sport wheels.

The stock M Sport wheel are 19' and the BMW 312 style are 20". Looking at them both side by side through the Build Your Own feature on BMWUSA the 20s on a dark graphite look much better to me. The 19s look too small and I don't really like the style of them.

The only way to reduce fender gap is to lower your car.

You're right. I wasn't thinking. I still like the look for 20s over the 19s though. |

Performance-wise, It depends on your set up. I have the staggered wheels, 255 front and 285 rear. Pick up may suffer a little compared to the narrower tires but cornering and turning are much better.
