I believe the formula cordinate * 2^29 / 45 is not valid for the idx/url files of the High version of the DVD. At least not for my X3 navigator.
I haven't found yet the right one |

The formula for the High version is:
(longitude + 30) * 50000000 / 9 latitude * 50000000 / 9 and no, PHP doesn't have ^ (well, it does, but means something else). Use 11930464.7 (= 2^29 / 45) instead. Should give you 588394542 in your example. Last edited by jav; 03-28-2006 at 06:00 AM.. |

Imola,
If you reach anything, please share. I also succeded in having the menu but never got anything else... Again, I used activeperl, but then re-edited by hand the file, so that it looks like another one... But no luck ! Please share ! |

I will share here if reaching anything.
Cant't figure out to build the required *.rl ans *.idx files. My menu is only working when using renamed original files of the dvd, hotels in example as speedtrap contents. I got Speedtrap Data Data from another CIQ dvd. Seems to have the same file strukture. I will try if this is working today.

Maybe it is time navteq wake up and open this possibility free of charge...
Besides I don't see the point of not doing it. In the meantime, sending some working files as requested before would be great, just as examples... |

hi, i need your help please.
I have a 645ci with business nav. On the DVD there are only 3 files. On is a BD file, Data base file and a DB_GBD file. These are shown on the attached pic. The DB_GDB file does not open with any program, the BD file opens with excel but has loads of squares. The only file that opens is the data base file. The picture shows whats on it, But i cant find the list of where all the POI's are stored, where is this? |

Finally after a couple of weeks of trying and who knows how many duff DVDs later I have finally managed to produce an updated version of my NAV DVD which now includes speed camera locations Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread |

I just followed the steps outlined by jav at the top of page 2 of this thread. Creating the required url and idx files was just a case of running the perl script produced by jav against my asc input file.
My greatest problem has been producing a DVD that could by read ok in the car itself. I could copy my original DVD ok but as soon as I tried to edit it my edited copy would always display No Entries when I tried to display information on a location to see if my additions to the menus had worked. In the end it was a case of trial and error to find a toolset that worked. For me that turned out to be DVD Decrypter to rip the original NAV DVD, UltraISO to copy in the edited and new files to the iso file and finally DVD Decrypter to write the modified iso file back to DVD. If you want to outline how far you have got and what bits are working ok and which aren't, I'd be more than happy to try and assist you. |
