Leather Treatment

Hi, I searched the forum on what everyone is using to treat their full merino leather but I could not find anything. At least my search did not return anything on that subject.

What you are using to treat your leather? I like the matt look and I want to keep it that way but in the same time I want to treat the leather properly. A while back I was using Zaino 10 which gave a matt look and similar smell of a new leather. Lately I've been noticing streaks when applying which is annoying! So for the past few months, I've been using a wet rag with distilled water to wipe it whenever I wash the vehicle. Thanks

Color Lock is the best option to get the leather nice and clean, with a matt finish.

I've used this brand for the past 10 years and I'm really happy about it.

Thanks for the feedback. Is this a cleaner or conditioner as well (as I'm looking for a conditioner). I looked on Amazon, there are many different options, do you mind sharing which one exactly you've been using?

This is what I shared with another member, on a similar thread (thread link : https://f90.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2005099) :

I'm using the strong and mild leather cleaner (with a brush), depending on how dirty is the support I want to get clean.

Once the cleaning is done, I use the leather shield and let it set for 24 hours.
To complete the job I use the leather protector.

I'd advice you to get those products :

-Leather cleaner (strong & mild) : https://www.colourlock.com/Leather-C...onge/11087-en/

-Leather shield : https://www.colourlock.com/Leather-Shield/11012-en/

-Leather protector : https://www.colourlock.com/Leather-Protector/11010-en/

-Brush : https://www.colourlock.com/Leather-C...leaning-brush/

I hope this helps!

I decided to be lame and use the BMW stuff. So far I like it since my leather still feels like new, and there is no shinny oily residue built up like you see in every used car picture.

Before applying I vacuum and wipe down with a damp cloth. This is the first time I've used a leather product on a car interior. My previous cars (all Cadillac) said not to use anything but soap/water since the leather was already coated with something. On my wife's BMWs I did the same. The Merino in the M on the other hand recommends that you use something.

Does the BMW conditioner leaves any white stuff especially on perforated seats? Thanks

No. If you glop it on too much I could see where it might get in the holes and not come out, but if you apply lightly and wipe it doesn't leave anything.

I've been doing the driver seat, steering wheel, and armrests every 2 weeks. I do the passenger and dash every month or so. The back seat I figure every 6 months since I have to take the child seats and seat covers out.
