In the first video, the designer says, "...it's a very raw, massive, monolithic appearance".
You said it, mate.
I'd rather take the bus.

This is not the way to celebrate 50 years of ///M.

This should be a range-topping standard model or “i” car, and not the flagship of the motorsport division.

This designer, while talented, is too disrespectful of BMW heritage for my taste. That probably extends to other leadership that approved the idea of this car to serve this role.

Horizontal slats = AUDI

Vertical slats = BMW

Why are they Audifying BMWs?

I've been waiting with great interest for this reveal for years. First, I have to note it's a Concept--the final version will be at least somewhat different.

That said, my thoughts are mixed on this concept. Parts I love, parts that I just don't understand, such as the back seat. Huh?

I'll keep waiting and see.

I am in a minority here. But I like the design. I prefer it over the Urus and pretty sure will be backed by monster performance. Definitely very different from the current X5/X7 design.

It's like the Godzilla of SUVs. Designed to tear up the competition and spit it out! A Cayenne looks weak next to the XM and Urus a little baby bug!

JMHO.

I'm amused by the fact that this is the flagship M product of the brand.

Cargo area opening really seems super small for such a large vehicle. Really high to lift things over that bumper too. This is very surprising and not seemingly something that would change on the production unit.

I think it is hard to see how things fit, work and appear when you see pictures and videos - seeing this structure in real life will be quite an experience.

Also, this is all before we see the drive technology - I am sure they've hit that out of the park: V8 + plug-in hybrid!

It seems like BMW are looking to further distinguish their regular models (vertical slats) from their M models (horizontal slats):

Just like what Mercedes are doing with their regular models (horizontal slats) vs their AMG (and Maybach) models (vertical slats), just the other way around.

. Yeah, no way they go into production with the rear as designed here.

It looks like a disease I'd wish on my worst enemy. That BMW went from the F06/12/13 to this in a decade is embarrassing

FWIW, I may not agree with the design "language" entirely, but I do agree with the design "path".

Design language is bold, loud, and in your face. Design path however, is futuristic and self-centric. It says, whether you like it or not, I'm here; and whether we like it or not, it is here.
