M3 E93 Convertible pricing - MSRP? More? Less? What about options?
Hey guys. I'm on the waiting list for an M3 Convertible and the dealer called up saying it's ready to be built. He needs to know what options I want and we have to finalize the deal. First question:
1. How much are people paying over/under MSRP for the E93 convertibles? 2. Is there a link to "build your own" E93? I see it for the other two M3s, but not for the E93. 3. Is there a link for option pricing? Are these normally discounted or am I stuck paying full price? Thank you! Reverse |

2. They should give you a list for options/prices including packages and what they contain, my dealer did when I spec'd one out 2 weeks ago. 3. MSRP and full price for options, asked but didn't try very hard for discount given it is the first couple months. |

Thanks, Radm3. I know on some of the other versions people are getting $2-3,000 off of MSRP. I wasn't sure about the convertible.

You can build the e93 on the UK website,...
http://www.bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/ecom4/fra...-bmwuk,00.html ...not sure how the option list will compare,... and of course the steering wheel will be on the correct side ... got to wait until July for mine |

All you can do is try. I've been able to get a dealer here to go $1K off MSRP for the M3 vert...but he's also trying to "steal" my trade...we have been going back and forth now for a couple of weeks and frankly, I may just give up on it /we are about 1200$$ away from a deal. Another factor is that I'm not overly thrilled about ordering now, waiting a min. 90 days for a (late Aug delivery) and getting one of the last 2008 verts with the 2009's going into production only a month after that. I may end up waiting until the 2009's are out. Does anyone know if the 3 series "LCI refresh" for 2009 will also affect the M3's...that would be another reason to wait...

Unlikely refresh for 09 M3 based on past experience and from scouring the forums. It is tempting to wait a few months longer for 09 from a financial perspective but I am not sure if I can!! Also there may be a price increase for 09.

Good point on the price increase for '09...but I'm guessing/betting there won't be additional price increases for a while as the '08MY already reflects the most recent BMW price increases....

1.] Exactly MSRP ($64,950) with no dealer mark-up, since I'm a repeat buyer. 2.] Not for the US market yet... BMWUSA only has the press release posted. 3.] Was given an option list by my dealer for packages, etc. at the time of order. Here are the pre-June 2008 options prices (this info is widely available in the forums, so I'll probably get ding'd for the repost): Metallic paint = $475 Extended Leather = $1200 Cold Weather Package (ZCW) = $750 Premium Package (ZPP) = $1250 Technology Package (ZTP) = $3250 M-DCT Transmission (2MK) = $2700 19" Wheels (2MT) = $1200 Park Distance Control (507) = $350 HD Radio (653) $350 Satellite Radio (655) $595 iPod and USB adapter (6FL) = $400 Enhanced Premium Sound (752) = $1900 My completely optioned out convertible came to $80,645 (including GG tax and destination charges). Interestingly, my GG tax was $400 more than I've seen others pay -- it was $1700 for me, but I've seen others pay $1300. Thought it would have been the same for everyone. They added "Government Fees" of $585, and Taxes were $6860 for a total out the door price of $88,145. Also, don't worry about buying one of the last 2008 models. Your late 2008 will have very few miles at the end (December) of 2008, so over the life of the car you'll actually have a resale advantage over other 2008's. This makes the argument about a drop in value moot. Your car will be a model year older than the 2009's, but will not have the miles most 2008's would have. It'll effectively even things out. Enough info for ya?

MSRP for me as well ($77,550 incl. GG & Destination, Premium & Tech Pkgs, M DCT, 19", heated front seats, metalic paint (Silverstone II), HD radio, Ipod/USB adapter). Purchased from Laurel BMW of Westmont (repeat customer & excellent service).

I thought (and still think) he was referring to the BMWUSA website where there is information (and a configurator) available for the coupe and sedan but not the convertible. Indeed, no information about the M3 Convertible is on the website at all beyond the initial press release which is under the "Future Vehicles" link. Has nothing to do with BMW San Francisco (my dealer). BTW, if you look at my signature, you'll see I've already ordered one and have an estimated week of production.

Not with our transmission choice. And yes, it's strange that they don't have the configurator "live" yet. If I recall correctly, the same applied to the E92. There were people in this forum who received their E92 M3s before the US configurator for that model went live. Weird. It's almost like we're buying the car based on faith

Yup, I was talking about the BMWUSA site. Thanks for the detailed info TheBry. I appreciate everyone's input. It sounds like MSRP is going to be as good as I can get and they've already offered that. Thanks guys.

Well, I ended up getting my M3 much quicker. The dealer had the exact model I wanted in stock and I got it. Fully optioned convertible. I haven't put 100 miles on it yet, but I can already say this car is AWESOME. I have some nice cars and this is the best, by far.
The computer system is wonderful. Those who find it hard to use or difficult have me scratching my head. I'd say it's as easy as using an Ipod. If you struggle with an Ipod, you'll be challenged by this system. If you like the Ipod menu system, you'll like this as well. My only complaint was my salesman. He didn't know squat about the car. BTW, I did pay MSRP. I was offered $500 under MSRP for the EXACT same car at Towson BMW in Maryland, but I had already made a deal with my salesman, so I felt bad about backing out on him. Plus, not having to drive a couple of hours was worth a bit to me.
Anyway, this car is sweeeeeeet. It is really, really nice. I have yet to park somewhere without people asking me about the car or complementing me on it. BMW hit it out of the park on this car. Does anybody know of any aftermarket Dinan performance mods for the E93? Renntech worked their magic on the SL74 (in the background) and it was worth it. There's nothing wrong with a bit extra horsepower! Cheers, REVERSE |
