What to do if your Launch Control doesn't work after your 1,200 service
What to do if yours doesn't work after 1,200 miles, even you do everything right?
Don't panic or worry that your dealer didn't handle it right. Just WAIT while driving more miles on your car! It has nothing to do with "service history" showing or not, I assume that's the feature only for non-US cars. Mine does not have the "service history" feature, but I do have the service reminder. (now showing 9000 miles due service) I did my run-in service at 1180+ miles and tried launch control at 1191, 1250, 1260 miles, they all FAILED. I could not get the flag activated, and rev stopped at between 1k to 2k and car felt like being held by the brake. According to manual, it says it will be available "after certain miles", however, it does not say how many! I just tried again yesterday, at 1391 miles, it worked perfectly!! Make sure you WOT down to the kickdown button quickly though! If you don't know what button I am talking about, stop your engine, depress your throttle to the end, you will feel it. So, just wait and put more miles on your odometer, your car will unleash itself! Maybe at 1300, or 1350... I think they build this in to protect the engine for people who can not make their run-in service at 1,200 miles and do their service after 1,200 miles. P.S. I really hope those German could put more information in the manual.
