2022 M5 Comp Fully Loaded (incl. B&W)
Located in Northern Virginia. I am willing to sell at the listed price facilitated through your local BMW dealership, or do a BMWFS lease swap (payments are $1,757/mo; 32 months left; 10k mi/yr; lease-end buyout option is $75,565). Reason for sale is I want something smaller, specifically an M3 Comp. Willing to work with you on shipping carrier of your choice, cost, and execution. This is a 2022 M5 Competition with very low miles (2,546 as of Feb 23). Car is in mint condition and specs are as follows:

My friend in TX totaled his pre LCI last week - a woman ran a red light and t-boned him.
How does Virginia handle taxes? In TX we pay on the cap cost so wondering if he has to factor that into this payment.

I'm fairly confident that the the taxes on vehicle sales are based on the state of registration, not purchase.

Reading into your question a bit more, sounds like he would be interested in a lease swap. This is a slightly more complex question, as in VA we do prepay all the taxes (like TX) so I don't know if that means TX would waive additional sales tax or not because it's already been paid on the lease. He should talk to a dealership he trusts to find out how that would be handled in TX as it's very much variable by state (some states will charge additional tax while others will not).
If it's a purchase he wants to do then it's more cut and dry, and would be based on the sales price I'm asking. I hope this helps. |

Car may be going back on the market due to buyer's state tax complications. Please PM me if you are interested in first right of refusal should that happen (will know in next couple of days).
