Pick up my E90 Today...Some Thoughts
I picked up my new E90 today. I was so excited I could not wait to get to the dealership this morning. Some thoughts from my first day with my new e90.
Some Details: 330i Titanium Silver Black Leather Premium Package Heated Seats Navigation 1) I leased my car. had I not leased the car, this would be a very different email right now. When I picked up the car is had 150 miles on it. My dealer, BMW of Manhattan, got this car from another dealer. I was furious when I saw this, and let the dealership know. They took 300 dollars off the price off of the fees that were due, threw in the phone cradle and installation and are going to me give me a complete detailing at the time of my choosing. Being this was a lease, I was fine with that. Had I actually bought this one(I'll buy my next one, when I move out the city, didn't make sense to buy vs lease when living in Manhattan, this city takes a toll on cars) I would NOT have accepted the car. 2) The fit and finish and feel of quality in this car is simply unrivaled. It'd gorgeous in and out. If there is one part of the styling I don't like, it's the rear...but that's relly a stretch. 3) I have the Steptronic and I LOVE the sport mode. I tend to keep it sport moe most of the time. The car is F-A-S-T FAST!!! 4) Did not opt for the sport package. I will when I move to the burbs. Ride seems great as is. Sports mode would be WAY to harsh around the city. We were out in the burbs with the car today though and the cars corners very well. Even without the ZSP. 5) I find the turn signal annoying. 6) I had the software updated to CIP 20 or whatever the latest version is. I have had no problems with Bluetooth and we have paired 3 phones. 7) The start button and key fob will take some getting used to, but I like it. 8) The electronic mirrors folding in could be the best feature ever for a car in NYC. I'll have some more, as I drive some more. I'm enjoying being amongst your ranks!!! |

When I test drove, the signals annoyed the heck out of me. When I got on the autobahn, then I realized what a great idea. It's made for the a-bahn.
Although, I still mess-up sometimes. If you really don't like it, you can turn the feature off via the turn stalk and personal profiles.

You're brave to have a nice car in NYC. Do you have a parking spot for it?
I wish I'd compained more when I got my car with almost 100kms on it. They must see some very banged up lease returns at Manhattan BMW. |

No question about it. BMW of Manhattan must get back some cars that looks like 83 Ford Escorts when we Manhattanites return them. I do have a space in an indoor garage though and will generally only using the car on weekends to escape the city. When i had cars in High School and college, I lived in the suburbs and was fanatical about keeping them clean and in great shape. But for this car, I took a 2 year lease and i'm keeping it in NYC, so I'll take good care of this one but I won't getn hysterical is I get a ding...

Welcome and congrats! I agree that once you get accustomed to the turn signals they are great. You just have to get used to them.
Use a photo editor to reduce the size of your images. I usually go max 1000 x ?

Speaking of turn signals... I noticed that the CIP20 update added an I-drive option under 'lighting' that wasn't there before (I have a pre-Sept car). There is now an option to turn the 3-blink feature on and off.....

Glad to hear you like the car. I agree with everyone else that you will come to love the turn signals. I have found that whenever I drive a car without them I miss them dearly.

Congratulations!!
The self-repeater feature of the turn signals is great. However, sometimes I still over push to turn them off when I have set them on full-on.... |

I now have problems getting back to "normal" turn signals. I LOVE the BMW way of doing this.
