Being Painted. I'm curious to see how the last part of the tracking goes as I'm doing ED.

I heard that it takes only three days to build a car. Not sure if this includes the paint.

I’m predicting 19 weeks however my order includes special paint and quite a few port installed options. I hope I’m wrong and surprised with something sooner. I’m working with an allocation originally slated for week 19 / 20 production that naturally was pushed to week 21 tentatively due to 490 Status (Grigio Medio paint).

Ian do you remember what week your allocation was for and if that held true to your actual build date ? I probably have at minimum an additional week for west coast delivery...

In my case, order placed at dealer 2/16 (Saturday) production number received on 2/19, for a week 13 allocation (4/1), car finished 3/30, at port on 4/3, on boat 4/10, due to arrive stateside 4/26 and at dealership 7-10 days after

I did not get my build week pal. It took I believe 5 weeks to get going. So far the worst part was two weeks sitting at the port.

Wow. That's pretty early on the build (by comparison). I'm doing ED on 4/25 but the build didn't start until maybe 7-10 days ago. Wonder what their criteria is on when they decide to start building??

I did ED on an M4 and it was built months in advance from WELT delivery. Made me wonder if when my order was submitted they had just built that spec'd car.... still only had 0.2 miles on the odometer

Boats to east coast must be more frequent... I was at the port 4/3 as well, and still stuck there. Car headed to CA as well.

It would be cool if we could keep an accurate account of how long the important processes took place, such as production time, vessel assignment, and actual travel time for the ship. This could be real helpful to others looking to order. Just a thought, maybe. lol

How long did it take after it finished production to get to shipping port for you?

That is correct - there are about twice as many boats going to East Coast as West Coast. I've heard the wait for a West Coast boat can be 3-4 weeks in some cases.
